Has anyone done a direct comparison of traditional detailing clay and the new Mother's Speed Clay block? The Speed Clay almost seems like a rubber pad, not clay at all. I used it and it did ok but I wasn't feeling the magic smoothness that I have had with detailing clay in the past. But my paint is now 12 years old and didn't have any clay on hand to compare. It does provide a good grip though so no dropping clay on the ground, and it did work pretty fast.

Also, I just saw an add for this Hydroilex product https://www.hydrosilex.com/ and wondering how it compares to something like Klasse SG. Its supposedly some type of ceramic technology and I am not familiar with that. Anyone have experience with it?

I've not used the Mothers block, but i have used Nano Autoskin for a number of years.

    You'll never use clay again.

Sub’d. Curious to see what feedback comes back on this question.

My 1st gen needs some love with a polisher, but our brand new Highlander’s paint is going to get the royal treatment for as long as I can manage.

I’ve been looking at products by AMMO.

Hydrosilex is on my list to try products. Detailers Domain seems to use a lot of it. They recently introduced a soap too.

Wwat is the nano autoskin, and is there really a nano technology thing or is it a marketing thing? I have always used the traditional clay/polish/Klasse SG and wax topper approach, but if there is something more durable and longer lasting I would love to give it a try.

Sorry, I wrote the name incorrectly. It's Nanoskin Autoscrub

It shows it on a polisher, I just use it by hand. They make a smaller version too. Just like clay, you need a surface lubricant. Since you are stripping any waxes anyway, I just use a solution of Dawn/water and keep the surface moist and toweled off.

I've used a lot of clay in previous years. Never again.

I use the nanoskin with a random orbital polisher and dawn mixed in with water in a spray bottle. Make sure the surface is well lubricated and go to town. It works incredibly fast. I can clay the entire truck in 20-30 minutes.

Nanoskin is a synthetic clay. I have the wash mitt, so you clay like you are washing the vehicle
