For those with state required front plates

I used to own "another car" that ended up going back to the manufacture because it was a POS. Anyway, one of the forum links popped up with this..sort of slick if you hate front plates.

AZ does not have that requirement so I am good.

Good for what? If AZ doesn't require you to have a front plate than why get it?

But driving that in another state that requires a front plate may be illegal, do to the fact that you could hide it. Even if you have the plate viewable.
I'm almost positive it would be illegal if registered here in CA, but I'm not sure if someone driving from AZ to CA, if you would even need a front plate for it to matter.

 

I'm thinking about doing a Satoshi grill and mounting mine right in the middle of my grill.

I hate the front license plate but in Texas it's the law and I don't want to get harrassed for not having one.

 

I am good as in "do you need that, no I'm good"....

Everything is illegal in California..so I am sure this is too!

What law would be broken if someone were to install this? If the front plate is visible, then the law has been met. If it were not, then the law has been broken.

 

yup, CA law says you have to have front and rear plates

 

You would have both....you would just have the opportunity to "temporarily" hide it.

 

Pretty sure that could get you ticketed in FL. Had several sport biker friends who got tickets for mounting their plates using kitchen cabinet hinges- the kinda the pop open or closed- so they could pop the plate up and run...

 

it has to be secured in such a manner to prevent swinging. Looks like it swings under to me.

Right, but what I'm trying to say is that even though it is visible, you could hide it if you wanted to. So if you're going through an intersection speeding, and that intersection has speeding cameras, and you hide the plate, that would be illegal. And quite possibly having a device that has the ability to hide a plate could also be illegal. Even if you don't activate the device and have the plates visible.
Just like having a plate cover that could hide the plate from the side.

So basically what I'm trying to say is that everyone should check their states laws or ask a Police Officer before installing on car. Just to be on the safe side.
It's a very cool device though, would be very useful if living between states that didn't require and did require front plates. If that state aloud that device to be installed in the first place.
