I put a super light coat around 4 threads like I always do. Never had problems, but I was just wanting to pick your brain on it.

So you were deployed 70k miles ago? The factory plug in these trucks should be a std copper not a special platinum or anything like that so if she had them changed that many miles ago that is normal wear.

Here is my problem with any sort of lubricant is it changes torque values. Whenever you build a motor and get new bolts from ARP or the like they will give you different torque specs for different lubes. So if you torque your plugs and not just do the guetentight torque then you are actually light on the torque. Plus I have seen it before someone put antiseize and the plugs walk out some and sometimes till they blow out. Just my experiences.

Speaking of tearing it up anyone know where I can get a new driveshaft from fairly cheap, DCLB. Asking for a friend:anonymous:

I'm glad I'm on your wavelength. I set my wrench to 19 to compensate for the antiseize

Edit: after calculating for the extension.

I have a slide rule for extension torque adding it's also different for the different styles and sizes of extensions. Makes it easier

But I've been doing this so long I've gotten a pretty good feel this stuff. About the only thing I torque down these days is heads and internal engine pieces.
