New headlights have arrived

It rained hard the day after install then I took it through my regular auto car wash. No water/condensation in the lights.
I have the monthly car wash plan so I go at least once a week, usually twice a week, so I’ll keep an eye on them.

 

Question: Right now with my oemassive lights, If I set the light switch to auto drl's are bright. Turn switch to parking lights, drl's dim and stay dim when headlights are turned on. Does this happen to any of you?

 

Did you use a relay harness?

 

There's no need in washing your car twice a week, unless it gets really dirty for some reason. The more you wash your car, the more swirl marks you'll get, especially at a scratch-wash place.

 

No. Just the ballast and the wiring that came with it.

 

Mine do the same. And so do the OEM lights.

 

This place has those soft, foam sponge-like brushes. Haven’t seen any swirls yet. But I hear you, I only go twice a week when it rains or when I go to the hunting camp.

I was told the OEM lights dont dim until headlights turn on and I cannot remember for the life of me lol

 

Mine dim when I turn on the headlights, also when I first start the truck they are dim until I release the parking brake.

 

That behavior I am aware of, but do they dim when you go from auto to parking lights only?

 

Solved: I re-wired the oemassive drl/signal socket. Not ideal, but it works the best the way I want it to work so right now if the switch is in auto, the drl's don't work (yes I'm sure I'll get flack for this), but if I turn the switch to parking lights (where I want the switch 95% of the time), the drl's are full brightness. If anyone wants to wire it up the same, this picture shows you how I wired it up

 

Any one running into the issue that when you flash your highbeams, your low beams come on? I'm talking about when you pull the highbeam lever - normally just the highbeams come on but ever since i installed these, both the highbeam and lowbeam turn on at the same time.

 

I will have to try and see what mine do. I haven't used my high beams since I got these.

Was there ever a consensus between tacomabeast vs pro tuning with hid?

 

I have the Pro Tuning with HID. I really like the way they look and perform. As far as I can tell by reading this thread, the Tacomabeast lights and the Pro Tuning lights are identical.

Yes they are identical headlight housings. When I got mine, tacomabeast didn't offer them with hid bulbs so I got my hid's separately.

 

anyone notice that when they flash their hibeams, the low beams light up too?
