There is nothing better in this world than your child asleep on you bellly. My daughter is almost walking. All the physical activity she is getting now tires her out. It’s almost visible to see the melatonin take over. Man, who knew that being a papa would be so rewarding.

Awesome! I grew up in Oakland and have probably been there 100 as a child and with my kids. Had no idea they do overnighters.

Mine is 14 now. Doesn't come out on trips with me as often as I'd like anymore because she has other priorities. But every so often...

They only do 4-5 might a year during summer I believe. This was our first year as well. You will have to register months and months ahead because it fills up very fast. It's little expensive, but totally worth it. Kids can have all the rides and there is literally only handful of people who will be camping with you. They provide dinner and breakfast. At night they did puppet show and magic show for the kids. Magic show was awesome!

The Monterey bay aquarium has a kids sleepover thing too that looks cool. You get to sleep in front of one of the giant tanks.

More shit then I ever planned on doing
I did a overnighter at the oakland zoo once but it was unintentional. When we were teenagers we would jump the fence and walk around drinking beer. One night the care taker/ security dude called the cops on us. Had to lay in a bush of poison oak till like 5am till the cops and helicopter finally quit looking for us.

    Lesson learned :anonymous:

    Oh shit. That’s a story.

My younger brother is like that. He looks at poison oak and breaks out all over. I get it but usually only a few spots.

Looking to get to Hawley lake in a few weeks. Anyone know the trail?
It's near gold and snake and that great basin area.

I thought you'd all get a kick out of why Dinkey Creek is named as it is. Turns out 4 hunters had a dog named Dinkey. Apparently, Dinkey was seriously injured in a fight with a grizzly bear. This happened in 1863 or there about.

Who knew? From the book "California Place Names: An Etymology of current Geographical Names".
