Much faster and doesn't loose pressure until it's out. I didn't really see/understand the advantage until trying to reseat beads on 42" Iroks made it so much easier! Also will run some air tools for a bit that something like an ARB twin pump and tank can't really do without the thing running like crazy to keep up. OBA is good for some things and CO2 is good for some other things. But once your tank is dead no more CO2. Advantages and disadvantages to both so why not have both to cover all your basis.

BTW what was the name of that place you ordered your driveshaft from asking for a friend:anonymous:

Stepping up the compressed air game is the better option, one system to maintain and store.

Picture if you will, a Harbor freight OIL lubed compressor ( 8gal tank) running of a probably 1500-2000w inverter, a GOOD air filter on the pump and the ability to make it set level as needed ( gimbal or just the ability to have mounted then released as needed) you have a reasonable air supply, and its cheaper than most ARB setups $119.99 @ HF

I have a 12v oil lube portable compressor, looks like a contractor trim nailer set up, but 12v. fits in my cross bed box. Unfortunately i haven't seen them for sale since i bought this one 6 years ago.

The driveshaft was obtained from https://www.wholesaleimportparts.com/Toyota_Tacoma_Driveshaft_2006.php

Advantage CO2 can be easily drug up a big hill to deal with situations that maybe the vehicle with that system cannot make it up. Portability. But I get your point.

I gotta have that stuff taking scouts wayyyy into the backwoods where we need to have the ability to deal with any issue that may arise especially since we could be hrs away from a top notch trauma center like Duke or UNC.

Fair enough. I just want to have one for the sake of having one. Tried to get one tossed in as a bulk deal at my last job but wasn’t successful lol

The shitty part about them is the batts hate low temps. I end up sleeping with it when we are camping in any temps of ~40 and below. Got woken up in the middle of the night one night by the thing going crazy with it's alarm on one of our cold weather campouts. It is not the most comfortable spooning partner either.

On a side note everything now is not about CPR its about time to defib. They want a person shocked as soon as possible where as in the past that wasn't the case. But studies have shown it's better in the long run to shock as quickly as you can. Better chance of survival, minimize risk of brain damage, etc.

Nope that is why I said need both to cover all bases. Advantages and disadvantages to each. Now if you could make a trail ready mobile shop that could handle even the toughest of trails that would be the ticket. Has to have a welding and cutting rig on it as well.

:rofl:Nah not going to run all that crap. I will get a CO2 tank but won't take it anywhere unless I am base camping it. Going to try and keep my truck somewhat slim and light. But I do have the trail limo so I have an extra foot of bed space to cram more shit into.

this all sounds neat and cool, the reality of going big like that is very cost ineffective and quite impractical. A base camp is one thing, one guy having all that shit in one vehicle on a trail, any trail just isn't feasible. The weight alone would require a good sized vehicle that likely wouldn't survive anything terribly technical.

A group of guys knowing what each other has and offering other options and going as a group, thats a better plan.

its all a dream, i know, ive been there, seen a lot of money spent and respent trying to achieve the dream, thought i was gonna be that guy once... its really expensive, especially when they wanna use your stuff, but don't wanna pay for the consumables "What? grinding discs and whizz wheels aren't free ? GASP !"

I think you are missing where I am being sarcastic. When I go to places like URE or along those lines I take bare min stuff a tow home won't break the bank. If I go to AOP or somewhere like that where I'll camp and wheel for a weekend I'll take more crap and just keep it at camp in locked boxes. It's all in the planning. Plus if you decide to do things like KAT or Swisha Loop then you'll be heavy because you have to carry all that crap with you at all times.
