Hey guys, is anybody getting any bump steer with these BP-51s? This is my first lifted truck that I've purchased without building myself and seems there is a decent amount of bump steer. Will adjusting the shocks one way or another help?

Attached is the pic of the truck to give you an idea of weight etc. The lower control arms, sway bar bushings, sway bar end links, upper and lower mounts for BP-51s were all changed and realigned today. ZERO squeaks after a ton of work, but wondering if bump steer is something i am going to need to get used to.

The tie rods didn't seem to have any play in them at all and the alignment shop didn't say anything about them.

    Any help would be great!

    Thank you,
    anthony

What compression and rebound settings are u running front and rear? I have been adjusting the rebound and compression and The front coilovers are topping out @ factory 20mm preload.....the coils feel tight and the truck feels like it wants to jump......I have about a 90lb bumper with a 9500lb smittybikt winch.....and sliders.....I think I’m going to have to lower the preload....anysuggestions?

It seems like you should go with a less preload.. maybe 15mm range?

If you go back through the op's original post, 20 is borderline topping out with a fully loaded front end.

Ya I’m thinking between 12-15mm, I can always stiffen it up if it’s too soft with the compression setting.....I just HATE the topping out! The coilover doesn’t seem like it wants to compress over large bumps Offroad....I am at 0 comp and 0 reb currently and it’s tight

Ya, I think I have roughly 160-180lbs on the front, at 20mm I’m topping out like crazy...so I think between 10-15mm will be the go to

I still think we need to set the height (via preload) so that at rest the shaft is sticking out a specific length. This would put the internals in the sweet spot of the bypass system.

C4F3333E-00D5-4C94-9547-7D5419959DAE.jpg Got out today and spent 5 hours trying different settings.
1 thing I changed. Removed RTT, added a tool box ,air compressor ,filled my 2 rotopax, small yeti filled and some tools.
Aired down to 25# on 255/85/16 Toyo MT
On the small gravel it was nice and fast.
On the roads less traveled it was smooth.
The 1problem I had was on large drops, felt like suspension would hit hard in rear. I need more weight. Hoping:fingerscrossed: the CBI tire carrier and full skids will take care of that. I’m not gonna make any changes until bumper and skids are installed.

The OP did in the first few threads. Has to be off the vehicle when adjusted.

Well I read that too... I think a few people were gonna try different spring clamps to see if they could do it on the truck... I want to adjust mine but I really don't want to take them off

I have not been able to find a post where it has been adjusted on the truck. Do you happen to know if the spring is similar to a 600,650, 700 etc...?

    Lift and cap so far...
I spoke with the ARB guys (also had there OME stuff there) at a show a few weeks ago. The springs that come in them are about 700 and do not come in lesser spring rates
