I’m sure it will just take time and a lot of patience.
    And of course food.

Thanks for the suggestions on the scratching. Maybe we'll get him a larger post and try it too along with the praise for proper scratching

So the Matt's are coming along slowly. Used my beard trimmer to cut some of the bigger ones in half. She's attacking the loose ones now IMG_20180715_100758519.jpg

Also found this little guy at work and took him to a no kill shelter. Wish I could've taken him in but the lady says we have no time for a kitten. IMG_20180714_130814385.jpg

Looks like that little guys' eyes aren't even open yet. He's probably going to have to be bottle fed to survive. We did that for a couple of kittens when I was a kid and it's a lot of work; very time consuming. Very rewarding though.

New kitten is settling in well. After 2 weeks of keeping Sterling and Lana isolated, we introduced them today while both were getting treats and pets. It went well and the kitten is very interested in playing with her big brother, but he’s not sure what to do about a cat that isn’t trying to kill him. Now all we have to figure out is how to keep the fat old cat from eating the kitten’s food. any ideas?

I’ve been trying to get a photo that shows her brown tabby markings, but it’s really hard to get her in good light for it. Here’s the closest I have gotten so far:

Sorry for the mess on my desk.

She also has good taste in beer, so I’ll have to keep an eye on her so that she doesn’t drink all of my Sierra Nevada:

If you leave kibble out for everyone, keep doing that since the kitten body will eventually need learn to adapt to it. If you have specific food that the kitten needs once or twice a day, you may have to supervise dinner time like we do at our house. One gulps her food down while the other is a very slow eater and we have to protect her so that other doesn't shove her way in and take it.

I have to do the same for Augi. She’s not as quick to finish a meal as the two oranges idiots are. They’ll stalk her and if allowed, would finish her meal for her.

Same here, Enzo is the piglet that will inhale his food then start hovering over Lola or Phoebe.

Phoebe is the slowest so her bowl is next to the couch that way we can sit and protect her lol

Same here. Amos is a cat vacuum while the girls just nibble away. We quit free feeding as suki tended to over eat and was getting a little too round. Amos eats the same wet food as Louisa but suki is 100% on a special diet now

7822904D-9842-49BC-B7B8-DB1DD0872D7E.jpg Wife and I are visiting friends in Galveston Texas for a few days (1st time to Texas) sitting out on front porch having coffee and this little sweet orange kitty runs across the street, up onto the porch and then hops onto my lap. What a little cutie. Friends just said she’s a neighborhood kitty and everyone feeds her
Then as I’m just sitting there I look across the street and there’s a meezer. Now I miss mine all that much more

Yup, my boys are grazers and our Ginger is a binge eater with a weight problem. Our solution was to keep a bowl of dry food up high in a cat tree where fatty Ginger can't reach it, but where the in-shape boys can easily access it. They all get a 1/2 can of moist 3 times per day, so the boys just pick at the dry food like between meal snacks. Ginger can't get at it until she loses the weight, and then hopefully we'll reach some kind of equilibrium. She gets measured dry snacks on top of the three wet feedings based on the daily desired caloric intake provided by our vet. She's currently on 175 calories per day. Fancy Feast grilled chicken cans are ~90 calories each, so we measure out 35 calories worth of dry food each morning and give it to her like treats whenever she asks. She's been doing well the past year, but we don't want her to loose the weight too fast due to possible liver issues.

    ...and how is Suki doing.
