okay so i have a 00 tacoma v6 3.4L and a month or two ago i got a wicked flow muffler installed. it sounded great and it was installed with the stock tubing and one of the two small catalytic converers were removed (due to them being burnt out) well saturday my dad said i had to go get smogged and when i got there i had to get a whole new cat but this one was alot bigger and after i passed smog i went to leave and the truck sounded like crap. i was pissed and came right back. the lady wasnt too helpful there and i ended up having them remove it. now i have straight pipes to the muffler and it still doesnt sound right.

does anybody know if i put that cat back on but get bigger tubing will it sound better? or what setup do you have that sounds good?

    -thanks

put cat back on and keep the stock 2.5 tubing, bigger tubing will most likely make it right raspy

Performance- bored .20 over, Doug Thorely Headers, Magnaflow Exhaust, and K&N cold air intake. Exterior- Trail Gear Solid Axle Swap, ARB compressor, high pinion 4.88 with ARB locker, 4.88 TRD Locker in the rear. Interior- 2 10inch JL W1 subs, Alpine MRX-V70 amp, Alpine type R SPR 17C 6x6 speaker in the back, Focal 165 VR with crossover tweeter up front, and Weather Tech floor mats.
Go to Rockauto.com and follow the simple steps to select your make modle and year, then go down to exhaust and it will be the first one. They want between 75-175 dollars for some different styles. I'd post the website but it uses a catalog type deal so it wont give you a direct link to it. And if you want i can email you a code that will give you 5% off anything you buy.

okay! thank you! ill keep this site. i also found wat might be making the sound i have two small holes where they welded the pipe on up at the front where the cat was and air comes out. these might be making one of the annoying sounds.
