Gonna have to take a rain check on the 7/20 date. I took my rig up to bowman lake after adding my mobtown skid set and shit I’m dragging on everything. I’m planning on lifting up a bit to compensate. As of now I won’t make it

My truck feels like a low rider now that it's back to stock. I am scared to hit the speed bumps in my neighborhood and the mall.

It sucks. I was on this trail 3 weeks ago and barely hit anything. Took it again this weekend and BANG DING OW lol I ended up bending mid skid because I didn’t know I would touch a rock. GUESS NOT.

As much as i continued to plan it accordingly with everything else that’s squashed into the calendar i’m unable to join in on the festivities.

This looks like a absolute blast of a adventure and surely one that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.Props to Brian @TacoSauceHB for putting this together.Look foward to seeing you and everyone else i haven’t seen in a bit asap!

You taking her to a different dealership than the one that denied your warranty? Hopefully they didn't get the documentation into the system and you can slip it in under the radar...

We can just pick a frequency when we get to camp on Friday. One we've used in the past is 151.something. I have a few programmed into my radio at home that @eccracer104 gave me. It's easy to change the channel and as long as we're just using them line-of-sight on our runs or at camp (if we even need to), then it's just like a walkie talkie.

Edit: Found the frequency we used at San G. last year 151.941

I tend to use these channels:
    151.625 (weatherman)
or one of these three MURS channels:
    151.820
    151.880
    151.940

Sorry it's not super simple. I wish it was.

    Choices:
    FRS-Family Radio Service.
Those cheap blister pack walkie talkies families use at amusement parks.
    Pros-cheap, no license required
Cons-crowded frequencies, limited to 1/2 watt and no removeable antenna so the range sucks. (the wattage changed recently to 2 watts)

    GMRS-General Mobile Radio Service.
More advanced versions of the FRS radios.
Pros-More wattage allowed and also removable antennas allowed. Much better range. Can use repeaters.
Cons-Needs a license and a call sign (no test, just a fee every 5 years) <---this might have changed in the last few years. My GMRS license has expired.

Some of the blister pack radios are combo FRS/GMRS. Nobody reads the instructions but the same GMRS rules apply when using the GMRS functions.

    HAM-Amateur Radio
Tons of stuff you can do with a HAM license. There are three categories. (Technician, General, & Extra) Each adds more capabilities. Most people are at the lower level and that's plenty.
Pros-Lifetime licensing, Only fee is $15 to take the test.
Cons-gotta take a test. And use a call sign.

    CB-Citizens Band
    Old school trucker shit
    Pros-No license, Just some rules.
Cons-can be crowded in some areas

    MURS/Business Radio
Dedicated frequencies for a business at a limited area/event.

All of the above use dedicated radios only for that band (except for the FRS/GMRS combos).

Some stuff about the FRS/GMRS changes recently.
    https://bettersaferadio.com/fcc-adopts-long-awaited-changes-prs-bands-gmrs-frs-cb-murs/

The short answer is find out what others in your area use and use that. I think we are all serious about what we do and to get the best performance out of everything we do so we should get HAM licenses and use HAM radios (both handhelds for when we are out of the truck and truck mounted for good power and better antennas while we are in the truck).

Quit bowing to the whiney ass HAM dorks. Just use whatever you want. Not a soul out there that’s gonna catch you on whatever freq you use.
