I had the back end break loose on me about a week ago with wet pavement. I was exiting a roundabout and hit it. Got a bit squirrley until skid control kicked in. Running 1.04 91 octane and ECT on. I felt cool for a minute but I’m sure I looked like an asshole.

Excited about what 1.05 could bring...

This is a really good idea. MPG Tune for normal "D" driving and Max Power Tune when in ECT or "S" mode - what do you think about this Matt? Is this a possibility?

    In progress.... And getting better!
Seriously a great idea. Is this a possibility @OVTune? I mean as a 1.05.1 or a 1.06, cause I want my truck back dammit!

only get 85, 87 and 91 here. running 1.04 - 87 tune. would opt for 87 and evaluate before moving to 91. Thanks Mat. Hit the send button when product is ready for release.

Anybody know what's the deal with i0tech software? I saw this on OVTuned.com a couple weeks ago and I see it's not for sale until some update. I recall it being about $300. A first glance it looked some tuning software where the end user (us) could make tweaks to Matt's tune.

@OVTune I'm posting this here in case other folks have experienced similar behavior - if they have, then maybe you can add a tweak to a future update. I remember you mentioning at one point that the tune has different profiles for each driving mode - D, ECT, S, cruise. At least with my truck, the cruise control profile seems less than ideal. I've made two different long highway drives in mountains now (one in CO/UT, one in PA/WV/MD) with a heavy load in the bed and kayaks up top, and in both cases cruise control had a bad tendency to under-gear itself. Climbing long steady grades at 70-75 would have the truck turning close to 5K rpms. Disabling cruise and maintaining that same speed manually on the same grade would have it turning 3200 with no problem holding speed. On some grades, it even could stay down below 3K, whereas if I turned cruise on, it'd downshift and be screaming at 5K again. I ended up on this most recent trip abandoning cruise completely because of how high it kept wanting to rev the engine.

This behavior is less noticeable if the truck is empty and has nothing up top to catch the wind, so perhaps the high demand side of the profile needs to be looked at?

I'm running 1.04, 87 octane version. Truck is a stock TRD Sport 4x4 DCLB with a topper.

Found this video today (on Digg) that gives a cool and fun overview of the history of tuning and how it has evolved into what it is today. Makes you really appreciate (even more, if possible!) what Mat does. The end is a small sales pitch for the product "FIXD", but the video itself is not sales pitchy.

This is basically how any Toyota I've ever had has behaved. Cruise control is the one area I've never been impressed w/ Toyota. Works just fine if relatively flat with very slow grades, but on a Rav4, T4R, and now Taco (tuned or otherwise) cruise has always been a mess under load with hills. If OV can solve this would be awesome but I've also over the years become accustomed to rarely using cruise anyway

It's very easy. If you or anyone needs help let me know. I live in San Bernardino/Rancho Cucamonga and work in Glendora so I am flexible with location.

I experience the same behavior pulling a light camping trailer. It would be great if Mat could offer some relief via the tune, but it's not a dealbreaker for me.

It did...then was reborn. Not as good...just different. Good for some unique reads and vids.

Is it possible to pull the ECU version without the Tactrix cable???

I'm waiting on mine to get sorted by Tactrix support / USPS and want to get the file request out ahead of finally receiving the cable so I can hit the ground running.

While I will get the OV tune sometime in the future, I did have the TSB applied today. Initial feel is better on regular road and steep hill. It appears more TQ is available.
Possible downside is apparent more engine braking at lower speeds Tomorrow a longer highway drive will tell me more. I’ll update here after.

Anyone else run into this issue too. I've ran out of ideas as i tried everything. Just curious if anyone has some thoughts.

I had a similar issue and I was able to get it working after I unplugged the OBDII reader from the truck (but still attached the computer) and then plugged it back in. This was done while the truck was on but not running.
