Emergency lift help

ok, so im stumped...im installing a toytec ultimate lift on my truck right now...but cannt get the coilovers to fit. i did not raise them anymore from how toytec sent them to me. i already have the diff drop installed, and have the top 3 strut bolts loosely screwed on to hold up the co, but the lca will not go down low enough to allow me to put the bolt through the lower shock mount. i have already disconnected the sway bar. any ideas?

 

Make sure you have the sway bar removed. I had it on, and was trying to get mine in. And it was a bitch. But if it is or ready, chris's idea is a good one!

Get a friend to stand on it and push down with his legs.
I did mine without disconnecting the sway bar.

 

use the old "stock truck jack" trick..........flip it upside down on top of the uca....then run it out.

I did this today for my 881's. Not as much lift as the toytec kit is giving but this trick works very well.

 

Ya when I put OME in I disconnected the sway bar and fit it in there with a little brute force.

a tip for you guys when reinstalling the stut/spring assy, it may be tough to get the lower bolt in, but what made it EASY was when I took my 1/2 breakerbar and layed it on top of the upper control arm, the handle of the breakerbar was under the upper control arm mount (in the 1/2"-3/4" space between the UCA and the part where it mounts to the truck), once the breaker bar is in there put a big 3' pipe on the socket end and push down, within a few seconds you can slip that bolt right in (easier if you have 2 people), this is the safest and quickest way I have done. You dont have to remove or disconnect the sway bar, SAVE TIME TRY IT, IT WORKS!

 

haha, thnks for all the advice guys...i got the front all set up, and to my dismay, when i was torquing down the top strut mounts on the passenger side to factory specs (like the instructions said), one bolt just broke right off, like really easily...so right now i have two, and have to call toytec tomorrow about the manufacturer defects warranty...so i gave up after the front because of how pissed i was at that...ill throw the AALs on there tomorrow and throw up some pics...id put pics up now but its got a gnarly so cal lean to it right now..haha

ok, so update time...i called toytec and explained the situation, and after being on hold for all of MAYBE 30 seconds, they let me know that some new studs were on their way for that top bolt and they would be shipped out that day. i think i can honestly say toytec customer service is the best ive ever had to deal with. and now...

I used a pipe to pry down the LCA in order to get the strut in the housing after bolting the top. From there I used big screwdrivers on both sides to work the strut until it lined up so I could slip the bolt in. First one took forever to figure out, after that the next was easy.

 

Lol I am just kidding man. I have installed a few of them and found that if ya push them down hard enough you can get it by yourself. Works a lot easier with two though

 

Toytec to the rescue. I enjoyed my ULK when I had it on and would reccomend them to anybody. Just don't turn them up too high or you'll start blowing CV boots like I did. I just swapped mine out for an RCD and love it.
