Sorry, I’m a new member, and I suppose these sorts of questions have been asked, but here goes anyway:

    * Is the Tacoma brand cooler than Toyota?

    * Can I take this to the dealer to install?

    * Will it look nice on the front of a 2018 TRD OR silver sky metallic?

    * Are there potential unintended consequences or pitfalls?

Thanks for your time and consideration!

Dealer will likely not install but could ask.

The grill is not compatible to the TSS on 2018s so not sure you can even really install the grill and they will not make one compatible to the 2018

Several members had issues with the grill breaking the plastic surround.

Yikes, well, that’s certainly enough to give one pause. Maybe I’m going overboard with a grill modification idea anyway? Perhaps I should think more about first steps being mud flaps and a bed mat. Something more boring and practical.

I mean, I could think of a dozen better uses for $600 than a front grill

If you don’t mind, what would be, say, your top three or four additions, with that amount of money, or actually with any amount?

    Anyone?

    Thanks.

Naive, I know, but I’ll ask anyway. Can I get one from the dealer, will they install and will it be an impediment to the TSS? Thanks!

For $600 you could get the Pro Grill, door sill protectors, new all weather floor mats, Hondo Garage Radio Knobs, Hondo Garage big squeeze phone mount and Expedition essentials TPAM, flashlight w/mounts for the seat. Vehicle OCD glove box organizer, vehicle OCD console organizer, HID lights, LED lights etc

You can order from the dealer, they will install it and it's designed to work with TSS

If you replace the chrome bezel with black on your current grille, it actually looks pretty good (imo). Also, bed mat is a must if you put anything in the back of your truck.

If someone think that’s heavy....you need to hit the gym. Definely not a grill for everyone, but you do stand out amongst the crowd. 69F69AD3-F158-4E0B-AB94-BBB20680278E.jpg

I’m going to put this list on the fridge and try to decipher its import. Thanks for the good stuff. But I’ll ask, is the Pro grill really more interesting than the TRD OR grill? Some think so, I guess.

All that matters is what you think.

I have the OR and the Chrome did not look good against a white truck. I ordered the BAMF grill and I did a test fit and realized that while it looked cool, it could easily cause problems down the road. Sold it a couple days later to a member on this site and ordered the Pro Grill.

I probably wouldn’t buy it if I live in extreme cold weather year round as it can crack in the corners...

Plastic and metal don’t get along with each other.

It's not a matter of if you can lift it heavy...it's that the metal grill weighs a ton more than the OEM plastic and grill bezel/supports were designed for. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome grill and I love mine. But I have no lower support(plate bumper) and the grill/surround started sagging from all the weight. Not a big deal, as I fabbed up some metal supports on the bottom to take the stress off.

I spent the $$$ on the BAMF, and it's still my favorite mod, 2016 truck tho.... Lots of compliments and questions about it!!
If you can make it fit on yours, I would, my .02

The grille on the '18's are black now. The bezel is the only chrome. I guess it changed in 18.20180610_132730.jpg 20180612_200015.jpg

    Pictures of the support brackets?

Back to subject. I would absolutely throw my sr5/limited grill back on as I think that’s the best grill as far as stock.
