    Jeesus fuck how hard did you back up, I don't think I've ever even gone fast enough in reverse to do that. I can't even see over my tent, get a backup camera or something. Also check that you didn't bend your frame in, might have dovetailed it now

    Frame is fine the bumper is pretty rotted so it just crumbled like a beer can then the tailgate took the brunt

    I cut mine out because I was tired of them bending into the rotor. No problems for many miles. The way I see it is better brake cooling and anything that would crunch the rotor would do so even with the “shield.” Little rocks in the brakes might be the only issue but haven’t had that come up as a problem personally

    I think the main purpose is to protect the rotors from mud or water splashing on the breaks especially when you have really hot rotors you dont want that to happen

    Shit that's the one thing I don't want to have a failure on. Saw guy had a brake failure on slick rock going down it. He flipped and luckily over did his roll cage and he was fine.

    I mean as long a your wheels dont have so much bs that the rotors are exposed i dont think its really a problem. I dont run those shields and never had a problem

    I think you'd be fine. Look at trophy trucks, rock crawlers, & other race trucks/buggies, they don't run dust shields.

    This was mine right after I bought it a little over two years ago. She was so clean....nothing like that now. I did just hose it down tonight but it never looks as good as that no matter what I do.

    But those aren't daily drivers....... I want a trophy truck as a DD lol but yeah the engineering for a DD is way more difficult compared to a race truck. Cause in a race truck a transmission just has to last a race. While in our trucks they have to last for 20+ years. P
