Rare but not the rarest...my 2002 with factory sunroof. Got a sunroof cover off of craigslist years ago too.

I’ve seen a few 2001-2004 extended cabs with the sunroof. Double cabs, however, are unheard of for me.

Your sunroof cover is even more rare. Everyone either lost it or never had one.

Yup true that, sequential twins is so late 80s & 90s tech. All the crap they had to make them work, like on Skylines, Supras, 300ZXs, RX-7s, etc. But it's cause back then they didn't have the tech for efficient bigger turbos like we have these days.

You can do some amazing things with a big and a small tubo compound setup too but the dual CT20/26 setup that Toyota was rocking was meh. The turbos weren't efficient and the manfold designs and routing for smog crap and packaging didn't help. Same really with the RB26, the 300ZXTT was a bit better with dual medium ball bearing turbos that separately fed their own bank of cylinders but still it was a bit gimmicky if you didn't plan to turn the boost up a lot. But really anti-surge and anti-lag have brought us into the best future

That's funny, those who have the sunroofs don't care for them but some of us that do want them have never seen them. Ok well I miss having a car with a sunroof & would love to have one on my 1st gen but really I guess I don't care anymore.

There's a limited double cab around my area that has the factory sunroof too. I wasn't sure if it was like mine which just pops up and is removable or if it is a power sunroof that slides back. Guess it is like mine.

Best pic of the sunroof cover I got...I think it's from a pre 01 truck since the grey is of a different shade:

I saw a fully loaded 1995 SR5 (pre-Limited) that had a sunroof. I was very tempted to cut the sunroof section out and splice it into my truck.

I decided against it for obvious reasons.

I remember seeing a thread on this forum when I first joined about problems with their sunroof, apparently the button wasn’t working?

This guy had an Extended Cab with an aftermarket sunroof. This was the kind that slid inside of the roof, unlike the stock one. No idea those existed aftermarket.

Yup LS swaps are great and all, cheap & they make everything for them but personally I hate seeing them in every chassis out there now. Me, I'm more the guy if the vehicle is a Toyota, if you're gonna do a swap, do it with Toyota engine..... keep the same OEM.

I absolutely hate seeing stuff like FD RX-7s with LS swaps.

Although I'll admit, that 1st gen with LS swap is pretty bad ass.

Got my truck back from @Speed Freek

He installed a new steering rack, lca's, lbj's and cam tab gussets for me. Only pic I have right now that he sent me since I picked the truck up at night:

Lol, thanks, I was like am I not being clear.

Yep it's 8.4/4.10 and since you said you'd take it without first agreeing on price, the price is.....$1500.....

Seriously though I'll send a PM and we'll work out what we think is fair.

Cool, I had no clue. I was pretty stoked when I saw it had one. It only flips up though it doesn’t slide.

Back in the day there used to be quite a few shops that sold and installed all types of sunroofs. I'd never trust an aftermarket one though. Heck, even some factory sunroofs will leak on you if you don't keep up with the maintenance.

I completely agree. That’s why I like keeping all the aftermarket things in my truck Toyota, or at least Japanese.

My rear view mirror is out of a 2012 Nissan Titan, my new seats are out of a 2001 Lexus ES300, and my front grille emblem is out of a 1989 4Runner.

The only thing I have that isn’t Japanese is probably my 1985 Cadillac DeVille horns.

Another engine swap I was considering was a Toyota D4D Turbodiesel swap. I forget the engine code but it was the successor to the 1KZ-TE. Yes, a Cummins would be better but I would ideally like to keep a Toyota engine in a Toyota vehicle. Plus the 1KZ already came bolted to the A340F on the Prado and Hilux.

Shops don't do those anymore these days? Not that I would ever want an aftermarket one for various reasons, just the thought of some dude cutting a big ass hole in your roof. :(

I remember by buddy had an Cabellero, GMC version of the El Camino that had an aftermarket one. It was a pop up glass but you could remove it manually from the car. He forgot to fully latch it one day, thing flew off as well pulled away from his house, shattered into a million pieces behind us. We both said, "wtf was that?"
