Winjet Inc Tacoma Tail Lights Comments, Concerns, Questions

Because unlike second gen we weren't blessed with led tail lights and some of us like to be different than every other Tacoma out there

 

And the ones I got aren't shit lol

 

I like how mine appear on the truck. So far I have no complaints.
Take a look! Sealing of lights looks good. Black tint looks like a factory job.

 

Are the ferrite coils being installed on new product or is it still an after purchase fix?

 

It may vary depending upon the vendor you purchase from. Some might have older stock. I got mine from Amazon and no problems with radio so far.

 

Quick question for you guys that own these lights. It's a little hard to tell from the company demo video, but are the turn signal LED's red or yellow? They appear red, but I just want to check. I've just purchased a brand new (still waiting to be delivered actually) 2018 TRD Off Road Taco, but as I'm a civilian working for the USAF in England, I have to have a light conversion done, and yellow rear turn signals is one of the requirements. Thought this might be an easy plug n play solution in my case on the off chance they're actually an off-yellow.

Mine had them installed already and have no issues with radio static

All led's are red. There wouldn't be an easy way to convert these to have amber signals unfortunately, at least to my knowledge

Not sure on their stock, but get them from Tacoma Beast's website as they have the best customer service. I got my tail lights and head lights from them and they have been super helpful

 

Well over the weekend I tried to get creative with these lights, but wasn't successful so I'l go back to the drawing board. I re-wired the tails so that all the led's were brake lights and the center light was parking and signal, but it didn't work. I took the tails apart and wired it up directly at the lighting boards, but as soon as I turn on the signal, they would blink once and then stop.

I have a feeling that I need a relay or something so that when the blinkers switch on it overrides the parking light. Right now I have wired them back to factory so they work as normal now.

 

Anyone with the black/smoke tails get pulled over? Do they pass inspection?

 

So just picked these up during a TacomaBeast meet last week in Corona California. I posted a YouTube video on me reviewing them so far and comparison to stock. My only concern so far is not being able to see the turn signal from the side. I do however like how bright they are compared to stock.

Really want to know where did you buy your bed decal? Love itand new taillights.

Just installed the Winjets today and I had none of the problems the previous posters had. I followed the instructions that were included in the box and the wiring was very easy. All the lights worked without blowing a fuse. Others complained about the reverse bulb not going in without modification but mine went in just fine. I am very happy with my purchase. And for anyone worrying about the led brightness with the smoke lens, trust me they are still brighter than stock. Also heard some people complain that the turn led was too small and not visible being washed out by the brake light. You always turn on a blinker before you ever hit the brakes so I don't think this would be a problem. These lights are much brighter in person than in a picture.

Yea there are no radio issues or electrical with them.

Because I've been so appreciative of the support from all the Taco guys, I reached out to Tacomabeast and asked for the code.
