Eh not that bad. The manuals never leave you stranded because you can always push start when the starter or battery dies. That’s the only issue I’ve had recently. Stupid battery terminal

It goes with the truck. Major PIA to take it back to stock.

    Lol yeah!
The 3rd gen would be just to bash around an the 5th would be to travel in/with.

Went to Toyota for misfire in cylinder 2 turned out to be bad ignition coils. So the aftermarket ones I put in were junk. Got new ones. Problem solved
In the mean time the tech "heard a noise" in the SC an it turned out to be bad bearings or "compromised" as they called it.
The blower is currently in CA being rebuilt by Magnuson. After just about a month being at Toyota.

    That's the plans.

wtf?? this was all after the coolant/seal fiasco? so you did new coils during that, which threw misfire codes.. then to toyota again to fix THAT.. and they said a bad bearing? I bet it was the coupler.. did it sound like rocks in the rotors during low idle? @christhebassman and I replaced our couplers with upgraded Nylon ones.. and that solved that issue. interesting and shitty you've had such bad luck with yours...

Are these SC’er issues common? Seems like a lot of grief that might make me think twice about blowing my truck :notsure:

Yeahh so after just over a year like 13 months, of running those coils they shit the bed.
Now that you say that it did sound like that a little. But never bad enough that I thought it was something of concern I though it was just the rotors spinning.
They said the took an oil sample from the SC before shipping it off an it had some metal in it.

not really. first issue I've heard of is Stormy's.

I have regular maintenance stuff.. and of course modding it adds some potential issues (I currently have a very small vaccum/boost leak from pulling the snout to swap the coupler, and not sealing it well enough).

still well worth it IMO. especially if you like modding and tinkering. I'm at 10lbs right now.. and it runs like a champ, even with the slight leak.
