What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Don't need power.... or tv remotes, dishwashers, coffee makers, etc. That's what kids are for! But I don't have kids yet.

 

So I need the hose that goes from the air box across the engine bay to the evap system. Went to the dealer to check the price, I hate using thick ass fuel line from auto parts stores in place of thin wall vacuum hose & is what I told the parts counter guy. Figured if it was like $10-$12 I'll just get it. That 3.5 ft unreinforced 3/8" ID hose costs $74!!! Haha WTF!

Funny how some things from the dealer aren't that crazy expensive where other things are outrageous. It's like they price it that way cause they don't want to bother selling to you.

I'm amazed at how well the roof holds up, mine did great too after going all the way over

 

@Blackdawg his did well to but he had pretty much a exoskeleton on the younger Frank

 

I would figure the impact of going over at speed would be worse than a side flop. Still amazing that back window landed flat on the ground unharmed

 

When I bought my 2000 the salesman said that sun roof was not available. I showed him a picture of a Taco in the brochure he had just handed me of a Taco with a sunroof. Salesman said that was a prototype that never made it to production. I guess he lied

Typical salesman, they want to sell you what they have in inventory & not order something they don't have on the lot.

Like when I went to look at a 2006 4x4 Offroad, they told me that they did not make 4x4s with the Offroad pacakge & that 4x4s were only available in Sport. They had a bunch of Sport models.9n the lot.

 

WTF, just walked out a restuarant for lunch & look what was parked right outside. Sunroof! 5 lugger though, not sure if sunroof is common on 5 lugs but still, it's the first sunroof I have ever seen in person (assuming it's stock).





And this morning, haven't seen a slammed single cab in a while, needs better wheels but it was still clean. I made a u-turn just to take pics, thought it was an S-Runner for a split second cause it had the flares. Still haven't seen a S-runner in a while.

Kinda looks.like it has a Del Sol seat in it.... could be just a seat cover but it's got the red racing stripe!

 

Wait, the black ricer truck I took a pic of, wonder if that's an S-Runner. It's got the flares, color matched bumpers, grill, & side mirrors. It didn't have the front S-Runner valance though. If it was an S-runner, what a shame!

 

Its not a s runner unless he de badged it and paint it white
