That sucks. Crazy the swing in prices for tires from place to place

Insane...that one was the worst that I saw. I would have thought being a member would have gotten better pricing than the online places. It may also have to do with the tire selection cause the same tire & size for a 17" rim was ~$200 like most other sellers. Their installation cost $15/tire includes rotations, balancing, flat repair, & inflation checks for the life of the tire which is a nice benefit. I'm probably just going to order from Amazon or walmart & have NTB mount/install for $20/tire

I had a screw in mine for a long time before I finally got around to having it fixed.

The 255/80R17's I had felt quite a bit lighter than the 285/75R16's. I used to rotate the 285's front to rear without issues. Someone suggested I rotate the tires swapping sides as the fronts move to the rear, that's when the tires started getting noisy. Other that that, no complaints. Was going to get a 3rd set of Maxx's, but decided to try the STT Pro instead.

For tires, I've used the price rewind on my Citi card. They search for the best prices and refund the difference

I only do side to side or cross rotation if I get a real bad wear in the front and that is only for one rotation. Kind of noticed when I do a cross rotation I burn through the tires a bit faster. When I had the Maxx's I just did front to back rotation. I have never had 285s but it kind of makes sense that they are a bit heavier since the tread has more material in it then the sidewall.

I would love the Pros, but I do to much on road driving to justify them

Same here... I had a nice camp site on the Saco River all weekend with no cell service. It was awesome!
That's how I rotate mine. Backs go straight forward, fronts cross to the other side on the back.

I follow the diagram above for my wife's front drive car also. Seems to keep the wear pattern consistent.

How do I provide them with water while driving down the highway? Granted I am certain they probably wouldn't drink it. They are nervous nellies lol. Made them their own bunk room and they were shaking as I put them in it with treats lol

Driving, I wouldn't worry about it, just keep the windows open and the air flow should be plenty to keep them cool. The only 'climate control' I've ever given my dog in the bed of the truck is plenty of blankets when he had to travel back there in the winter. We were heading up north and I'm sure it was cold back there. I made sure he had lots of loose materials to get under and a thick bed underneath to keep him warm. Also, put our bags in such a way to minimize the drafts. In the summer time, I just make it as wide open as possible for lots of air flow. If he's riding in the back though, it's usually because he just came out of the lake or something.

It's more for the 2+ hour drives to campgrounds that I am trying to be prepared for. Obviously we make stops for fuel, bathroom, food and at each of these I would let them out but god forbid we are stuck in traffic for a long time I'll definitely at least have the fans setup for them.

You can make a waterproof box that's taller than the dog bowl. Use a taller dog bowl too and try not to fill with as much water. But yes you usually have to stop to get the dogs to drink water. They don't like drinking and driving:rofl:

Luckily, I don't need to go anywhere. The few spots my city does flood wouldn't be a challenge for our trucks.

I wish I had my phone with me but our basement at the office started getting leaks from the water sitting along the foundation. Decent amount got in. Some of the roads basically had rivers on them

I know I am probably late, but we always buy from TireRack, and then drive to their warehouse in CT and pick them up. It usual saves on shipping, but you have to pay CT sales tax instead.
