o_O I don't know about that there is a lot of history about tactics and using drum magazines and larger than 30rnd ones in certain roles. The Marines are toying with the Magpul drum mags with their new SAW based off the m4. Also they are using the Magpul 40 rnd stick mags already.

I used to shoot amateur competition in Asheville and you’d be surprised how much the “best shot” guys struggled and fell to the bottom of the ranking when mag changes came into play.

I can’t, for the life of me, understand people that shoot often and don’t practice changing mags, dealing with jams, etc..

I haven’t shot in a while and I still practice draws and dealing with jams with snap caps at home when I’m bored. My wife thinks I’m crazy

There is a local guy here that makes reloads and if you ask him nicely he'll work up some loads that will cause malfunctions. I like mixing them up and getting them unexpectedly that way it's more realistic. That is key to good gun handling knowing how to clear malfunctions, drawing, and mag changes.

Little of this and a little of that
The Marines have been field testing the Magpul 60rd drums for a while now. Probably since Magpul got the contract for the Pmags. I'm not sure on the 40rd mags unless they're a private purchase or a unit purchase. They would have to have an NSN number for a govt. purchase. The drums are mainly for the M27 IAR (SAW replacement).

The saw also had 200rd drum, 100rd soft pack, and took 30rd mags.
ETA- The 200 and 100rd were on a belt so obviously not spring driven like standard mags.

The Beta C mag (100rd) like pictured in the last page did see some use with some units but had feeding issues. It's also a 30 year old design. I had one for a while as you can see in the wifey pic I posted. They are bulky and noisey.

The Army just put out an order to find a replacement for their SAWs too. Just fyi

Yes we did and we are all very said. No one wants to see the SAW gone. :(

The biggest reason I've been told from some really reliable sources for the saw replacement is mag and amunition interchangeability.

My buddy who's a special forces door kicker with the Marines ( I don't know the exact name) his unit runs the 40 rnd sticks. They actually were fielding some of the M27s before they became the known replacements to the SAW. I think there is a place for both these weapons on the battlefield and think it's a mistake to kill the SAW completely.

Marine raiders or also known as recon marine.

Back to the purpose and a place, every weapon system and ammo has a place or as we call it METT-T. Which determines equipment and how we will act in situations. The IAR (M27) is a good automatic weapon I’ve heard, but for those that have carried it or know it’s necessity on the battlefield then it will be missed, unless there is a better replacement.

So this light bar has 2 power leads. There's a + and - on each end of it and it came with 2 Deutsche connectors and a Y harness. I understand the wiring because it's just wires....just gonna take some custom wiring kung fu to make it look neat. Came with enough to wire an Escalade front to back.

I like neatly tucked wires that make it.look factory vs hanging all over.

I'll use the Deutsche connectors most likely and I have weatherpacks for under the hood on my RTMR. There are some spots on the back to use zip ties to secure everything. I like the idea of being able to remove it if need be. It's a KC Flex 40" 200 watt
