Ohh, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the engine from a mechanical or engineering standpoint. I'm sure it's typical Toyota quality. I just feel the 4.0 could have been improved with direct injection and some other tweeking, combined with the new 6 speed trans and would still have the same or even better power and mpg as the new 3.5.

 

That I agree with. I wasn’t super happy when I found out it wasn’t the 4.0 but hey, what the wife wants. She gets. Lol

I think thats called a slimline bumper or something similar. I have seen a few of those bumpers and they look good. Not sure of the functionality though

 

Anybody have access to an industrial-size bandsaw? I'm talking something with like a 2-inch blade and can cut through something 12 inches thick.

 

Took two weeks of sweat and blood to clean off all that Tennessee mud.....to paraphrase an old Jan and Dean song. After a week in the Tennessee mountains chasing waterfalls and generally flying down forest roads the Wild Crow was certainly a dirty bird....

Washed three times, waxed once today and it looks almost new.

What are you trying to cut through? Cutting 12" of AL is a lot different than trying to cut 12" of steel. How long is what you're trying to cut? Can you do it on a vertical bandsaw or do you need to use a horizontal saw? Is the cross section round, square, rectangular? Can you turn it on it's side and cut through less material by cutting across the 12" face? I've got access to a few different machines at work that might get it done.

I am trying to cut through a log about 16 inches wide, 10 inches thick, and 6 feet long. But this is not just any log. It is a piece of my grandparents' house. The main part of their house was build in the mid 1700s and was basically a log cabin made of walnut logs.

The house was destroyed by fire in 1977, but some of the original logs were salvaged. I have one of them. I want them sawn into boards so I make make some small clocks; one for each of us 7 grandchildren.

 

So you need someone with their own saw/lumber mill setup.

 

Yeah, but I need a band and not a thick circular saw. A circular saw would eat up too much material.
