lmao the level of rage here in this thread is ridiculous. Its an unpainted unprotected surface. Take a wire brush to it and then rub oil on it and you are done for life on this part.

It's surface rust people. On a part you never will look at again unless you specifically try to.

Don't ever look under your $52k truck if you don't like rust.

Well actually I sold guns for a few years during college and almost every remington long gun I unboxed was rusted to some degree.. But it was surface rust just like yours that we wiped off then put a coat of oil on to stop it coming back.

Don't wanna add fuel to the fire but if you have surface rust from a humid environment i would try to pull back the carpet at the front of the truck and the back.

Some 3rd gen tacomas have had issues with the 3rd brake light leaking, along with windshields not properly sealed at factory.

Do you happen to have a roof rack on your truck? If it wasn't installed correctly it may be leaking through there as well.

    Hope you get it resolved

I did seen multiple Pro in Texas at msrp. Could not get them to wiggle even 1k. But they worked a significantly better deal on the TRD off-road. That was in 17 I don't know about the 18s. I would be willing to drive TX to CA for msrp before I did 60k

I hope you never pull the dash bar out of any car. They don't coat those with anything either. This is flash rust, no big deal.

Just curious why was your head up under the dash in the first place lol?

Like @Jamesboy2233 has been saying, that little spot litteraly will never cause any harm. It's not like you will be able to see it while you're driving.

If your truck was blown down to the last nut and bolt there would be rust in some capacity. The fact that you live in Denver does not save you from rust. I bet if we bisected the frame rails there would be hidden surface rust

Here is mine. 2017. I live in the middle of the Mojave desert. I’m not worried about it because it’s just surface rust. It’s not like it’s exposed to the elements all day. No biggie.

I guess maybe, I had the frame and under body coated when I bought ot new. If you look at my frame
you will see zero rust, but maybe there are some spots hidden some where.
