I've been stalking this forum for a while and decided it was time to officially join and introduce myself. My name is Jonothan and I'm just starting my trip with this Tacoma. This is the first 4 wheel drive daily driver I've ever had. I plan some very mild mods, mostly aesthetics and functionality. I drive about 50 miles a day and don't want to give up too much fuel mileage. This is my 2017 TRD sport. Mostly stock except for the mud guards. I know that I'm in the minority with the mud guards, but it makes the truck easier to keep clean. I'm wanting to tint the windows, add a brush guard, and more aggressive tires. tacoma.jpg
One of the first shortcomings I noticed was the sound system. This is an Alpine 10 that I added behind the passenger rear seat. I know many have taken out the plastic liners behind this seat, but I really didn't want to cut up a new truck, so I designed this box to fit in the container with no modifications. I just need to take it back out and carpet it when I can find the carpet that I want.

The big battle on here is Sport vs OR, so I might as well go ahead and throw my .02 cents in. I had the choice of sport or the OR, both for the same price. I loved the look of the sport (it's all about the skewp), plus the sport had running boards (easier for my kids to climb in) and the hard tonneau cover. I knew I would use these a lot more than the locking diff or crawl control. I'm too broke to off road this expensive truck. I just needed 4x4 for getting to work on snowy days, gravel roads to my dad's cabin, and pulling my boat out of some of the smaller lakes with gravel boat ramps.
