Probably my favorite campsite I've found so far. Nearest town is over an hour away.

My fishing line snapped mid-air on the first cast from my kayak which I knew was not a good sign of things to come.

Oregon-to-Canada on the WABDR (June 2018) - Day 1: Joe and Daisy's First Big Dirt Adventure
    June 24, 2018.

It's not often that we end up on a trip in our own backyard. There are many reasons for that - there are amazing sights far and wide, adventurous friends are located states away, and of course the weather in Washington makes snow-free exploration tough much of the year.

But when Joe got a 4Runner and mentioned that he and his wife (Daisy) wanted us to get them (and their 16-month old) out on their first trip, it seemed like a great opportunity to do something a bit easier and a bit more local.

The WABDR (Washington Backcountry Discovery Route) fit that bill perfectly!

Read the story with tons of photos:

Sure! It’s a Flagstaff T12RBSSE. I’ve made a few mods but stock ....it’s dry weight is 2225# and has a cargo “never exceed”capacity of 1527#.

I figure it’s 3K wet the way I have it set up. (I swapped out the hubs for 6 lug matching)

It takes less than a full minute to set up and my wife usually lifts the walls and sets up the inside while I’m setting up the power and water and leveling the jack stands. The storage box on the front is large and easy to get in and out of and there are 5 access hatches on the sides allowing for easy access and distribution of gear/weight.

The inside is plenty roomy and the bed is bigger than a full and slightly smaller than a queen.

I rigged up a bucket to catch the grey water and we use a big portable potty we’ve had for a long time.

If you’re really interested I can pm you some pics of the inexpensive mods we’ve made to make it really work well and to make using it really easy. Here’s a few pics of the not so inexpensive deck my son and I built for the back.

Let me know if this is what you were looking for and if you want more info. I’m also logging a trip report on Tacoma world and Expedition Portal. I’ll copy and post the links later today too.

We really love the hard sided pop up camper! You can use it just fine fully stock too. I’ve just been hanging out here in taco world and seem to have to modify everything now.... :)

Make a build thread for it here. There's also a thread for what mods have you done to your camper
