Dealers put on new tires and wheels, floor mats, and maybe a tow hitch, but yeah, no one is going to tear into a brand new truck like that.

With the cost of all that custom fab work, they'd have to sell it for the same price as Tundra.

I'm taking bets on who thinks a business that does that is still in business today... Takers?

    Jesus OP.

Power sliding, drop down, or any other kind of back window besides a manual sliding or solid pane did not exist on 1st gen Tacomas. Sunroof was a factory option, but aftermarket power solutions do exist for sunroofs.

If you are absolutely certain you sat in one new, then it was a custom dealer job.

According to a Toyota executive not even a sunroof was produced from factory. But yes this is why I'm asking these questions to narrow down this feature on a Taco. Just a matter of time till someone steps out of the woodwork with actual knowledge of this, I'm only ignoring these childish post from those who are stepping out of the tall weeds. I may have found one of these truck north of me I'm going to check out on Fri.

If it exists and is a pro job, why would I share that with u at this point? I'll buy it if the truck is worth it or take personal notes for a personal build.

I think you misheard. Toyota put sunroofs on Tacomas from the factory, and it has associated part numbers as a result.

Toyota didn’t put power sunroofs from the factory. They put flip up vent sunroofs.

    To prove us wrong?

Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty sure I'm right on this, but I'd love the opportunity to be proven wrong. I do it all day long in my day job (try to prove myself wrong). It happened to me the other day in that snorkel thread, and again in a thread about 5 lug wheels. I like being wrong, it means I've learned something.

But I mean, let's face it, you've been pretty much wrong in everything you've posted in this thread so far, from the msrp of a 2004 tacoma, to a mystery toyota executive saying they never produced sunroofs, to (most notably) slide down rear windows in tacomas.

I build multi million dollar custom sport yachts. Its only natural for me to take risk with producing pricy custom things for wealthy clients. I have been born and raised in one of the most wealthy counties in the US. A 38 thousand dollar totally Badass Taco around here is nothing. I looked at a $60,000 coffee table the other day. $60000 coffee table. A coffee table. I just assumed others have come across such a truck. I assumed wrong.
