    As a kid I had lightning strike a tree next to a boat launch about 5 minutes after we paddled our canoe across the lake as fast as we could to avoid the storm. Made it to the truck just as the rain came. Split the tree wide open right there in the parking lot.

    Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
    Same here. Lightning struck a tall pine tree right in front of me as I drove to work one morning. Just a flash, then POW, and chunks of tree blocking my way. I jumped out and saw the top of the tree was on fire. Called 911 and waited for fire to respond. Was surreal. And one of the reasons I got a camera installed to record that kind of stuff.

    When I was a kid, lightning struck the powder magazine at a rock quarry about a mile and a half from our house. That really livened up our evening. The concussion blew out all the windows in the side of our house facing the quarry.

    Former Daycare Provider Convicted of Hanging Toddler Gets Probation

    A former Minneapolis daycare provider who attempted to hang a toddler in her home avoided prison Monday after a judge sentenced her to ten years of probation.

    Nataliia Karia, 43, received the sentence after pleading guilty to charges of attempted murder and third-degree assault in February for hanging the toddler from a noose in her basement, KARE reported.

    Karia also pleaded guilty to one count of criminal vehicular operation for striking a pedestrian, a driver, and a bicyclist with her vehicle as she fled her home and attempted suicide in November 2016. All of her victims survived their injuries.
