Has any one been able to get this done with a lifted truck on 285s? Should have got this done before the lift and tires. Also is this available in Canada?

    a few...
Pardon my lateness to this tab thread but is “tsb-077-016 rev1” still the latest Tacoma tab?

I’ll be taking in my truck next week for scheduled maintenance and want to be well prepared with this issue.

Plus last week I just bought the OV Tune so I Would like to make sure my truck is all squared away after service so I can flash it with the OV tune.

    Thanks

Just had update done today. Pull out of service lot & no more hard downshift. Awesome. Pull out onto frontage road & transmission flares on 3-4 shift. Grr. Calling dealer back up tomorrow. Wondering what next step is.

Update. This AM was cold & it usually will act up, was perfect. No flare. Going to drive it for a week & see how it goes.

    Yes it is...

There's been talk of another update but no sign of anything yet

I hired a lemon law attorney. Toyota admitted "no fault" but bought my 2016 back.

    True story.

Here is a pic of it as i left it at the local dealership, while signing the buy- back paperwork.

I was told i would have to sign NDA paperwork too but i was never given those docs to sign. 20180531_104550001_1531964692659.jpg

The transmission issues. It is a pathetic drivetrain combo.

I've owned many other 6 speed auto transmission vehicles that drive normally - the Tacoma has issues.

image.jpg I went back to a Jeep Wrangler JKU. Got a great deal on a leftover JK as they were transitioning to the new JL. Almost pulled the trigger on the JL but since it is a first year model, as my 2016 Tacoma was, I figured I would go with the tried and true JKU. I'm getting surprisingly good mpg. Mixed driving = 20.8 mpg. Way better than my 1997 & 2004 Wranglers got!

There it is in the background as I was pulling all the accessories of the Tacoma before I turned it over to Toyota.

I looked at another F150 Supercrew but they are just too big. I looked at a Ridgeline, but that required turning in my man card.

I don't think it fixes the sloppy transmission in these trucks....maybe the hesitation but not the transmission.

To many TSB's for this turd gen. I've owned mine for two years, biggest ( P O S) very disappointed in Toyota. Don't need to hear get rid of it, planning on it, just venting till then.

If you don't like it, get rid of it. No point in bitching when its your decision to keep it.
