No this will put too much stress and could kill the shock. You do not want to exceed 23” hub to fender measurement on a 4x4 Tacoma. This is a 3” lift for 2nd gen and 2” for 3rd gen (you). This is because 3rd gens are 1” higher from the factory.

This is why I asked since it said the 5100s would get 2.75 vs 2.5. Which isnt a lot but wasn't sure why the difference with same 888 coil.

They are approximate lift heights, generally speaking they will provide the same lift.

Ok thanks! Just a couple more questions if you dont mind.

    I see people saying
"Also look into ECGS needle bearing replacement as lifting 3" has a good chance ofneeding this"

Is that needed with both OME and 5100. If so why and what is it?

The adjustability is on the stock spring generally. The ome coils shouldn't need compressed. Get the proper spring for the height/lift. If you plan on adding weight like a bumper and winch you will need a stiffer spring to compensate

The front differential had a needle bearing on the driver side which has play from the factory. Sometimes when you lift a Tacoma you get a vibration or grinding noise from that bearing because of the new angles from the lift. Some people need it and some don’t, it’s kinda hit or miss. I needed it on mine even without a lift.

Yes the needle bearing has a good chance of leaking and causing a vibration... best to change while you have it apart already.

Ok..is this something common you can find anywhere? Why do people mention it only as ECGS?

Will all this, I feel like I would be better off just going with the DB lift. Especially if I dont offroad?

I know RC gets a lot of shit. But what's you guys opinion?

It's your truck, you do you.... no judgement here. Are you willing to cut the cross member out of your truck and completely void warranty??

Because that specific kit rides like shit. They have low quality shocks and blocks in the rear. With DB lifts you also have to cut your stock crossmember on the frame, unless you can weld your never going back to stock or a 3” suspension lift again.

Not your whole warranty but if you have a frame or suspension issue, good luck getting Toyota to cover it. They could also try to blame drivetrain issues on it too.
