Moving onto bigger and better things.

Scotch is for sipping and drinking slow. It's my go-to when reading a book or doing research.

You wouldn't shotgun a good Porter, Imperial Stout, or IPA. You wouldn't shoot or chug a single malt Scotch either.

Well if you eating super hot wings, then that cold bitter IPA goes down like water. It helps with the burn much more than any other method though.

My sister and her wealthy counterpart don’t know cheap booze and they like to party... so I wasn’t going to be a terrible house guest and not partake!

I feel like the recession stunted my growth towards figuring out what I want to do. About the time I moved into my job they were laying off people and expecting me do to more without additional compensation. I'm only now just realizing that the economy is much better than it was 9-10 years ago and I can get paid a lot more money to do one full time job.

I've been giving the what do I want to do question a lot more thought lately, so hopefully I know soon. But if not... I got my 40's.

I worked two full time jobs during my first attempt at college. Made it two years before I burned out, but 0 debt! Focused on my job (retail) and 10 years later I’m paying for that mistake. I’m trying to finish school, find a decent paying job to pay bills and work around my schedule, and take care of my wife’s medical issues.

I can relate. Just spent six of the best years of my life working a dead end job for management that at best is unethical... And that's being overly optimistic on their behalf. Now I'm in my mid-30's wondering where the hell do I go from here.

Whatever you do man, no matter how long it takes, finish school. You'll never regret finishing, but you'll always regret not.

Good luck with finishing school. My favorite thing about school is being finished with it.

Yep. I am a child inside, and I just wish I had kid responsibilities and kid problems. Like my bike broke so I can't go see my friends. Now it's my car broke so I can't go to work.
Do the dishes once a week when you want your allowance and now it's do the dishes every day.

I just graduated school and I thought id have all kinds of free time. Idk where it all goes.

I think I drank the most when I was with my ex. And with her smoking habit (cigs+pot), I knew she couldn't say anything about it.

Remember "Mo' money mo' problems"? I'm preaching to the choir here, but that same concept applies with every.single.thing.in.life. The problems and issues to tackle just scale with time and scope.

My alcohol intake drastically reduced with age. It wasn't the development of hangovers, it was a loss of interest... Even with the exponential increase in stress.

Of course, a good day/evening of getting sauced to the gills every blue moon is cathartic. ;)

This is real. I use to drink a beer almost every day and wasn't opposed to tying one on during the work week but that doesn't happen every anymore. I rarely drink a beer during the week now and if so its only on special occasions and I'm far from tying one on. Ill still enjoy my weekend beers here and there but the days of drinking everyday don't even sound fun or appealing anymore.

New to this thread, not sure how i went to so long with not knowing this was here! hahaha

in my 30's a good scotch or whiskey neat have been my go to, i still enjoy a good IPA or Ale if we're BBQing but something about sipping on a scotch or whiskey to take the edge off at the end of day is really nice.

I've realized with how stressful my job has become it's turned more into coping mechanism during the week but my intake has definitely been cut down by a lot since the birth of our first kid 6-months ago.
