Did you guys hear about the 4runner that rolled down the mountain at Max Patch? Supposedly the road gave away and he rolled a couple of times then finally stopped against a tree or he would of kept going.

I did not hear that but I think I know where he rolled, there are definitely some sketchy spots up there.

No we rare not going Sunday, hopefully mid august; I would go with a 31.5 Ko2 if I were you. I believe that is a 265/75/R16 in tire size.

Good to know you made it without an issues.I think the 22nd is off as far as i know, unless some of the other guys are still going on that date.A few posts up shows a August meet up might be in the works.Be great if we can all go as a group

I have the TRD FJ wheels in 16" on my stock 2011.I am running Cooper Discoverer AT3 265/75/16 and love them so far. I got them from Discount Tire Direct online to save taxes and came with free shipping for $632 shipped for 4 tires

They have been great in snow, ice, and off road with no wear as of yet.Not the best pic but here is mine with the Coopers and FJ wheels on it

Where he rolled they had several trucks recovering him one T4R perpendicular to the rd and it had room in front of it. I think some not paying attention and dipping wheels off the edge of the rd happened from the IG video and pics I've seen the rd is wide enough for 2 vehicles easy.

    How was the trail?

Near the end when the trail forks do you go left or right?

Watched a video of the trail and some trucks went right on the gravel and some went left

The first time I went through was with a group that went to the left. This way is shorter but there was a really big hole right before the trail opens up onto the road. The next time, I went to the right. This takes you uphill a little then through a meadow after negotiating the ruts. This is also the way most of the you tube videos show.

You know Ima dreamer, and my heart’s offroad. I had to drive away high, so I didn’t get stuck low. Home Sweet Home...
    All right wheelers.
    Hurricane Creek Roll Call...

Seems like we’re getting plans made here! Awesome.

I will play it by ear on the 22nd...
    a) Wife has been out west all week so she will either bring a bit of leftover adventure back, or want to rest.
    b) Honey Do list for summer keeps growing, and my DIY/Handyman Drone hasn’t been delivered yet.

    Mid August looking good!
    :fingerscrossed::hattip::thumbsup:

    Goooood to know.

So, “really big hole...” meaning “take it slow, pick a good line, and stand a spotter if you can...” or “abandon ye all hope and stock trucks...”?!?

We have twins. Got mine with about 40k miles from Biran Easler Hendo. Knew right away, even though it was one of many test drives.

Looks like you might have more lift.

    Very nice!

Alright guys lets plan on Saturday, August 11th. That sounds like a good date for everyone so we could go as a convoy!
I think we should meet at the Ingles Gas Station in Waynesville (Russ Avenue), and then roll out from there!
Please post in the thread or Message me if you are in!

I will make another post about it sooner to the date to remind y'all.

Yeah, "really big hole" as in...This was the guy in front of me, and that wheel was a lot higher off the ground before I could take the picture!

BTW, I didn't have a spotter and slowly eased into the hole and got high centered. After the guy behind pulled me out, one of the guys from the truck in front guided me through perfectly. Spotters definitely help when you can't see over the hood.

My truck is stock except for slightly larger tires. There was at least one bone stock truck there too that made it without any problem.

Oh, and recovery straps, or in my case a really big rope help when you do get stuck.

I didn't get too muddy though...
