Hesitation Hell

Wanted to share my new findings on the hesitation on acceleration issues I am having with my 2014.

After cleaning the throttle, changing the air intake filter and a few other things that was suggested, by the way, all very good suggestions...

Today found out Costco on Glenrock Rd. in Norfolk had a full fuel "Regular" delivery the day I filled up last week and they put "Diesel" in the "Regular" Tank in the ground???

Yes my truck is now at the Toyota Dealership...

 

I assume that Costco is covering the cost.

 

Wouldn’t you notice the knocking?

Holy crap !! That’s going to be an expensive screw up for that delivery driver.

Brutal! Sorry this happened to you. No wonder you were stumped, that would've been almost impossible to detect before it was too late.

Diesel smells sweet,O.P you didnt notice the smell when you filled up ? Not blaming you ,but Diesel has a very different smell then regular.

 

I worked for a Shell distributor for 17 years and we had a couple of fuck-ups like this. With over a 100 locations, unfortunately it happens. And we always paid to have our customers cars fixed.

 

Moral of the story: always keep your receipt when buying gas, you never know when you’ll need it to show proof for whatever reason.

 

Sucks OP, I hope they pay for whatever repairs are necessary.

A large part of my job is being able to detect petroleum via odor, and I don't think I would have been able to tell while pumping the gas/diesel mixture into my truck. First, the truck and possibly the gas pump itself eliminates most vapors from escaping into the atmosphere. Also, diesel mixed with gasoline would be a confusing concoction for the brain to tell the difference.

 

Hey, thanks for all the comments-yes they paid for all the repairs, including what I had spent trying to guess what the problem was, the gas amount I pumped in that day and $100.00 gift card... Cant imagine what the overall cost they have to shell out before its over. @- Costco's and 3-Sam's on this expensive day. Hopefully no future issues because of this I will definitely be knocking back on COSTCO's door. Remember Me??
