I live next to the ocean with a manual tranny and experience the stumble every day. I also notice it when the engine is cold. I wonder if I have the old cps as well. Need to check that out.

I don't think I've noted a stumble, rarely do WOT starts and live near sea-level but I did note a loud POP (once) under the hood when running about 20mph and gave it approx 75% throttle. I have AT w/a K&N CAI and it was loud enough to startle me, so I backed off the gas, haven't experienced anything like it since. Would this be the stumble everyone is referencing?

If you look at the PDFs for both TSBs, the new calibration ID (after flash update) is the same for both 0058-18 and 0062-18 ('16 and '17 model years). 2018 trucks didn't get 0058-18, but did get this one.

Yep, same here when I was on the OEM calibration. Manual trans trucks have this symptom too.

    F@CK!

Hmmm, maybe this is why Mat noticed the large number of changes in 04B04 after getting his hands on the new file - it's not just for surging 40-50mph.. it appears that this latest TSB for stumbling has the same calibration ID..

Jokes on Toyota, OVtune will find out what they did and give all of us the good stuff.

How much is the ovtune and do you get all the updates free when they put them out?

This is exactly what Ive been dealing with for 2.5 years even after the first two rev1 updates. It kicks in harrrd.

What were the rev1 updates? Didn’t know about them. Same bullshit with mine. Or when I go to pass someone it revs up, kinda falls on its face kicks in hard so I let off a little. Then it falls on its face again so I give it just a little more throttle and it shoots up again. Very inconsistent behavior

What stumble? I have never experienced anything like this, is it a lovely AT issue?

Oh that’s really old. Thought it was something new. I had a TSB done which was probably the second revision of that, it fixed my cruise issue for the most part. Still sometimes have the R to D hesitation too. Never had the fluid checked but don’t really care about the level. If it’s low they can replace the tranny when it blows up if I still own it at that point.

That's what the TSB is for, the AT.

But based on comments right in this thread it apparently plauges some MT owners as well.

TSBs are often generated based on volume of customer complaints. Guess which trans type there are more of in service? (thus more complaints)

Yep. M/T V6 is a very small part of the whole, but does have this issue. One would hope that there's some metric that would tell Toyota the volume of complaints as compared to just M/T trucks and not the whole 3rd gen market.

This right here is why ppl shouldn't shy away from bringing their issues up with the dealer/corporate. I still don't understand some folks on TW who rage at owners who dare say something negative about their truck, trying to convince them they are whiners and to just live with it/learn to drive. Great idea...if everyone did that, well I guess there wouldn't be any TSBs.

Oh, and I get the frustration due to numerous/repetitive threads about the same issues. If it bothers someone, they shouldn't get wrapped around the axle.. just move on and enjoy their truck that doesn't have problems.

Had the new update done yesterday and the subtle surg I had is gone, and the driving experience is much better. 2017 off-road AC 4x4 Automatic.
