3 of mine are 09/18 and 1 is 52/17, would have liked it better if they were all the same.

I just swapped my Nittos M/T's(285/70/17) for 265/70/17 wild peaks. The weight and size is noticeable; the truck does perform better and I have more wheel travel and clearance. OME BP-51 suspension. In a perfect world I would have liked a taller tire in the wild peaks. The wild peaks are great practical choice....the 285 Nittos are bad ass. Maybe put them back on in the spring!

I hear some general opinions on the Wildpeak and KO2 in this thread, but I'm still left wondering which one is truly the better tire. I have KO2s and love them. Great off-road, best AT tire I've ever had in snow, quiet, rides smooth enough, etc. My last tire was a Duratrac, which performed poorly in snow and was really loud on the road (relatively speaking). KO2 therefore seemed like the greatest tire that ever existed, following the Duratrac. Looking at the Wildpeak, I see a more affordable option that might perform about the same, might be just as quiet/smooth, but would weigh considerably more.

From those that have experience with both tires, what I'd like to know is which tire they would choose in these situations, or if they both perform the same:
    • Wet roads
    • Snow
    • Off-road (rocky terrain)
    • Off-road (mud terrain)
    • Smooth ride
    • Quiet ride
    • Power (affected by weight)
Bottom line, if you've got a KO2 and you're really happy with the performance, what will make the Wildpeak an even better tire?

I only have experience with the KO2s, but have been looking to switch over to a tire that performs better on the wet pavement. Other than that I have been satisfied with the performance on and off road in the snow, dry, and wet. I generally avoid mud so the poor performance does not affect me.

I will be looking into the Falken AT3W when time comes to change tires.

I've decided to pull the trigger on a set of these. Curious where the cheapest place to buy a set is? I FYI I live in the SF Bay area.
    Thanks in advance.

Which is better other than price.
Uses for off-road, snow, wetness and some mud. And durability.

I cant comment on the Falken Mud Terrain only because I've never had them.

Because I have them and have had nothing but good experience with them in pretty much all conditions. They're pretty cheap and have a warranty until 55k miles.
Lots of other users on here greatly enjoy them as well.

The BFGs have a three ply sidewall and will hold up far better with extreme use. The Falken is essentially a car tire with an all terrain tread and as a result is lighter and smoother riding.
