Got it because of the way toyota struts are on the cars... better to grab the coil instead of the hat to compress it. the springs are offset from the shock...

Day 3 or our WABDR trip is posted - our run from south of Ellensburg to just north of Cashmere (through Leavenworth, just a few days before Northwest Overland Rally, so extra expo). Read all about it, with lots of pictures:

    Cage looks good.

I put in the front 5100s to level this little unit. And cleaned out the rear window slider. It was grindyyyyy

Pop the access panel for the tailgate off, take a block of wood and a hammer and pop the majority of that dent out.

I have a stock replacement radiator and am running 188-189 on the highway or in town and will only get to 191 while sitting. I flushed the whole system really well when I was doing my timing belt and water pump. I couldn't imagine how much lower I'd get with a Champion lol

I just installed LBJs ordered from Camelback. Now, I can't really judge since this was the first time I installed them but I was under the impression they weren't supposed to be able to move easily (finger grip). They looked fine and I installed them anyway but I was curious about that. They differed a little from the LBJs toyota replaced (under the recall) back in 2013. They had different numbers stamped on them and the driver side had a different designation for driver side - I should've wrote it down but didn't.

Do you remember what member reported the failure - I'll go search but I am very curious about this. The outer ties and the stabilizer bar links from Camelback were like this too. Easily movable - again, I don't know if that is the norm but I seem to recall from somewhere on here they were supposed to be very stiff and difficult to move by hand.

Yep, live n learn. I may be limited with the valving with no reservoirs either. Maybe not, but gotta learn more about it before I throw more money at the front suspension.

I do not, it was a while back and before the bs thread started up so it is buried back there, maybe @mechanicjon remembers.

Well, I think I made enough room for a second Optima. (Thanks for the idea @Blackdawg, I think this is similar to what you did)

Needed about 10 in, was able to make about 10 3/4 clear space.

I don't recall how easy they were to turn. But mine had actual up and down movement in them.

Can anyone confirm that the idler pulley bearings are 6302? Just had both of mine seize in the past 24hrs.... My submarine mission is starting to catch up!

Edit: looks like 6301 if anyone cares.

Crawled under the truck last night to look at how the hitch receiver was attached. The Indiana winters have been taking a toll on my poor California truck's frame... It is still in good shape and I imagine much worse if I didn't coat it before winter. I'm thinking about using POR15 on the spots that are starting to chip away the factory frame paint.
