I can see that, but those big stops have an overall smell, since so much is being pumped. LA doesn't have those vapor recovery nozzles either... so that would affect some people's senses.

Didn’t think of that, although not sure they all have them. Plenty of times at the stations I can smell what they are pumping. Well honestly never smelled them pumping diesel but they don’t fill that as much. Most of the stations here don’t even sell it. A lot of the pumps and stations in my area are old so I would imagine they don’t have to have that system. Maybe they had to add it when they dig up and replace the old tanks. We’ve have a few stations around here that have had to do that. I’m sure the DEC has regulations and checks. Probably only so long of a life span on those old metal tanks

Newer cars have vapory recovery built in. No need for the pump. I heard they 2 systems would fight one another. :duel:

LOL.... when I would travel the northeast, I would see those vapor recovery nozzles and the disposable plastic gloves (like you see at a sandwich shop). I would think to myself... pansies!

Gas station confirmed that diesel was pumped into the gas tanks and they are having somone from the corporate office call me to assist with repairs.

They said somone called around 9 to report it and they took the pumps offline...aka me .

Station owes you a cold beverage for the assist. In addition to the repairs they are on the hook for.

Wonder how many people with junker cars are gonna go put diesel in them and then go to this station and claim they paid cash for gas last night?

    Isn’t it illegal? Lol

Honestly I don’t know. Just know going on a trip to Atlantic City any place in jersey they have attendants. Was told it was illegal. Also heard the reason or one of them was to help with jobs.

That sucks man. For everyone involved. Atleast they did the right thing and close the pump when you called. Could of been a lot worse for a lot more people

Dealer is gonna have a field day. They will replace everything just because someone else is footing the bill. I’ll bet it will be 7 grand or so
