I hope they sort this out for you. I dropped the coin on a Leer 180, it took 4 weeks but the paint, fit, finish, etc is even better than I imagined it would be. Zero regrets.

I would get something in writing from snugtop before mounting a roof rack on the shell, I wouldn't trust a verbal "ok" especially when you will be waiting 4-5 months for the replacement shell. Customer service departments deal with a lot of issues on a day to day basis and in 4 months they won't remember what they told you or even care.

The dealer, after quite a few phone calls, has promised me a new top in 4-5 weeks. I told them I want to mount my Yakima rack as I don't want to go any longer without it. They asked me not to mount it so that they can resell my rack. I told them if they give me a free headliner, I would hold off on mounting the rack. They agreed.

Got my SnugTop XtraVision installed with two issues. Taking it back to dealer today and they are sending back to SnugTop for window fix, but unsure how they'll respond to the seemingly wide gap around it.

    • sliding window/screens - one barely slides, the other one doesn't at all
    • gap - seems at bit excessive, fingers up to knuckles all the way around
Everything else is pretty solid but given I spent nearly $3k, I want it to be perfect!

Looks great! I can live with the gap but I want what I paid for in regards to sliding windows.

So excited to get it setup and get out there!

That shell looks great! I ordered my Snugtop Rebel almost 4 weeks ago and it should be in tomorrow. It looks like the Snugtop badge came off easy and was not recessed like Leer? I was a little worried that after I take the badge off it would have a small indentation where the badge fit.

Like that TRD badge along with removing the stickers on your truck itself. Makes the whole thing look OEM. Nice work.

I just sent my new XtraVision back for sliding window/screen repair as it was poorly manufactured. The paint job, Yakima rack rail install, and LED light strip were great though.

While at it, I requested thru the local dealer if the manufactuer can do anything about the seemingly wide gap on the outer edges (two-finger pic below). Now obsessed with topper fit, I have the widest gap in town and expected better. I doubt they can do anything about it but it's worth asking since I have to sent it back for window repair anyway.

Please be careful removing the Snugtop badges, I let mine sit for a month before I removed them. The paint needs to cure, I have “seen “ some horror stories. I took mine off when the truck sat in hot sun for a day,hot and slow. Good luck, post some pics.

Thanks for the tip! I'll be sure to let it sit for a month before removing them. When you do remove the badges, is there an indent in the shell for the badge or is it flush with the rest of the shell?

Flush on a Snugtop, I got a fingernail underneath, peeled it back nice and slow and even. 90%of the adhesive came off with the sticker. Cleaned the rest with charcoal lighter fluid, then hit it with detailer spray.

Assuming it's on with glue/adhesive tape like the Tacoma badges, I had success removing mine after a hair dryer on it (or warmed up with sunshine) and fishing line.

I'm all worried about this "gap" now.. I saw a Snugtop on a white tacoma today so I decided to checked it out, had about an inch gap between the bed and the shell. I don't know if I will be able to deal with that. I wanted a "Snug" top.

So are they all made different or something? Some people say there is a gap and others say there isn't? I would have thought they would all be off the same mold, no?

Just got a rebel installed on mine, huge gap/lip whatever you have it around and the rear sits a bit over the actual bed. Doesn’t look the greatest but if it’s water tight I’ll be fine. I had a Windsor that had a bit of sealant that wasn’t cleaned up and dried and ended up looking like smashed bug guts. I have some drilled holes that aren’t used for anything. The dealer used layers of foam tape to seal up the bed from water. I’m a little torn on it but overall happier with a covered bed.

What the bummer about SnugTop is that their previous generation was actually snug. As I look around town now, it looks like sometimes it's snug, sometimes it's not on the newest models. What's more upsetting is when I look at ARE and LEER toppers, they are all snug on the sides and the same price as what I paid.

Once I get my SnugTop XtraVision back from the manufacturing plant, I'll be sure to post a pic here. They will fix the sliding windows and screens dangit, but I'm doubtful they can fix the gap around the edges as the local dealer said it's how it 'cured' after being handmade which didn't ease my disappointment.

Throw up some pics! I was supposed to have mine installed this week but it isn't going to ship out to the dealer until early next week. I'll be sure to post up some pictures after I get mine installed.
