Pretty sure your ac will come on at whatever setting you leave it at. At least that’s how all the vehicles I’ve previously driven with remote start have worked.

Interested in this. The $180 is for just the 3x remote function, right? How much to add the cellular?

Is that T harness you're providing something you're splicing together yourself, or is it something sold by the remote start company? Whats the warranty?

The tharness is manufactured by fortin and I clean up the harness so it’s just plug and play. The warranty is the manufacture warranty, but if an issue arises I will take care of it through my distributor. Sold over 50 with no issues.

This seems like a fair deal, and straight forward install. Can i easily add the cellular later? Also, if you have the cellular installed, can you still use your factory key fob 3x when you want to do that instead?

Yes and yes, I will program it for the tele-connect/autolink. You can buy from me in the future or else where. It takes 5 min to add on and 3x still works.

    Subscription Options
    • 1 Year included free at purchase
    • 1 Year Renewal - $29 USD

This is for tele connect and autolink. Rockford bought crimestopper. And packages it differently, but same module.

Ok. You've got me sold on the 3x. Might purchase the cellular from you later, but want to get in on the main kit while you've got it at 180. How do i Purchase?

Should be the same range as your key fob if you just get the remote start. Unless you have an extender or an optional RFID key fob with a 1mile+ range.
With cellular, anywhere with a verizon reception.

PM if interested. You can always try the 3x out and if you want the cellular can add it later.

The plug and play should not void any warranty as you are not cutting any wires.

The cellular is a module that installs in your vehicle that you pay yearly for. You use an app to communicate to it. Doesn’t matter what service your cell is as the module runs on a Verizon cdma signal. The module works only if there is service by that carrier.

One thing i did learn recently was Verizon is suppose to phase out the cdma network by end of 2019. I am looking at an alternative that runs on 4g/lte so it will have plenty of years before it’s phased out.

A couple/three weeks ago, I went by 12V (since I am local to them) and purchased one of their systems (directed I believe). Both 3x Start and cellular. They did the install. It worked fine that evening, but the next morning, I couldn't get the truck to start with the push button. Would start with the fob or cellular app, but of course, shut down when the door opened. I was left stranded.

Now I'll give props to 12V, as Clay drove over to my place and replaced the 3X unit. It worked fine for about a day, then went haywire again. Couldn't start it with the push button, and relays in the unit continually clicking on and off.

I unplugged the unit, and let Clay know I would be returning the system. He refunded my money and took the system out that coming Monday. Said it was likely a harness wiring issue, although I never got confirmation on this.

So,.... I've now installed this system, which is Fortin instead of Directed. Currently, all seems well, although it has only been installed a short time, and it is currently only the 3X start. My thinking is to do it a step at a time, for troubleshooting purposes, just in case there are issues again. So far so good.

Shipping was incredibly fast!! I ordered last Saturday, and it was in my mailbox when I got home from work on Monday.

Install was pretty simple. The worst part was feeding the wire between under the steering wheel and the compartment behind the cubby. There are just so many little plugs/loops folded back (stuff in the harness not being used which he has taped back to simplify, I assume)that want to get snagged while pulling it thru. Patience is the key.

Also, I did not drop the entire plastic portion at the knees. I just removed the bottom of the steering column, and pulled down the cubby section to the left of the steering column enough to get my hand in. Not all the way out, just 4-5 inches, maybe, at the front. So the only screws I removed total were the two behind the steering wheel.

The only question I had was which T harness to use. The "A" or the "B", when plugging into the back of the cubby compartment. I re-watched the video in the first post, and saw he used "B", ... so did I.

Thanks for the system @jmeitz . I'll give it some time to make sure all is well, then start looking at the cellular option. Probably best to wait until you get the 4G/LTE set-up anyway.
