Sorry I only have photos of gaps from the rear Bedsies to tailgate. There are large gaps in which I can see light and painted metal. Can you see these as well on trucks without shells installed or did the installer now my bedsides out?

Those are normal. Nothing to do with the top install

Thanks. I’ll have to wait to see if it leaks.

They make tailgate seal kits, looks a little funny and sometimes they don’t stick real good or last. You shouldn’t get a lot of water from those gaps but it may get a little wet if your driving in heavy rain

That's normal and there shouldn't be too much problem with rain, but dirt dust really is a problem for that gap.

I honestly don't know if mine has that but I can check when I get back home. I don't think the installer would seal that up, though. They typically seal up the where the shell meets the bed, right?

You said, "it's not perfect". Do you mind expanding on that? I placed an order for one today and I'm very curious about your complaints.

Just wavy fiberglass, at the bottom where it meets the truck bed.

update: During a heavy but short rain today, my shell leaked at the front corners of my snugtop. I also have a Bakflip MX4 tonneau cover on another 3rd gen tacoma that leaked from the same corners. I understand there are numerous threads about lifting the shell and putting some silicone caulk to help with water intrusion.

On the way home from work today I ran over a pothole and my rear window popped wide open on the road. I have the prolock option and it was confirmed, locked, after I pulled over and closed the door.

    Anybody experiencing the same issue?

What does the latch mechanism latch onto? The tailgate or something? I wonder if it doesn't have enough overlap to really secure itself...

There are two metal loops at each bottom corner of the camper near the back window. Imagine the hood of your Tacoma with a metal loop and the mechanism found near the grill to unlatch it.

That totally makes more sense, haha.

I'm getting my Rebel installed tomorrow! I'll be sure to check that out and maybe ask the dealer if they have heard of that happening before and if so, how to fix it.

I’d make sure they seal up the front of the bed with silicone.

I like the badge and sticker removal. Have anymore side shots of it?
