You may have a mouse living in your duct system that comes out after you have left and fucks around with your door locks. I’m kidding

It wouldn't make sense to me for it to be a bad guy. Why would they unlock it and not steal anything?

Well, it's pretty new and I don't have much in there other than stock stuff.

Dude you’ve got it backwards. There is no Auto Unlock. Do this, lock your vehicle with the fob. Then step 10 feet away and unlock it but DONT open the door, it will lock its self after a minute or so. That’s the feature and that’s all you get. Now if you unlock the truck, then open and close the door, your truck will remain unlocked indefinitely. Period. You will need to make sure you manually lock it with your fob at this point. Your truck will never lock itself at that point ever!

I know there is no auto-unlock. I don't want it to auto-unlock. But it is unlocking by itself without my intervention. That's the problem. I was just thinking that if it unlocked via fob or something other signal, that it would re-lock itself.

Did you ever get an answer on this? My 2020 started doing this... randomly unlocks itself, no auto relock.

Nope. But I haven't had it happen for a while. I also have a remote start with lock/unlock so I just check the app when I think about it.

I had this issue as well as my locks cycling super fast 4 or 5 times randomly on start up. They ended up replacing my actuator under warranty. Never had the issue again. The hardest part was for it to be covered under warranty, they had to replicate the problem on site.

This has happened to me before a couple times too. Was suspicious of a fob scanner or repeater or something, but was probably just being paranoid. Since I've moved I'm a bit more isolated and may forget to lock it anyway. This has only happened over night and not during the day while I'm at work, so idk.

(I lock my car (so i think), go inside, sleep, wake up, go to drive it to work, and it's already unlocked. weird.)

Even if it is unlocked via an app if a door isn't opened it should auto-relock...? I don't have the app

Bumping this up, because I am having the exact same problem as OP and others.

I am sure I locked the door, either by fob or sensor. Then I sometimes come back to the truck with the all the doors unlocked. Im not sure what is unlocking my truck . It happens randomly. Initially, I thought it was scanners, but seems like a few people are experiencing the same issue.

Had anyone cleared this up yet?

I have had this happen to me... and everytime it has happened it was because I got distracted and hadn't locked the truck in the first place. Kids, wife, unloading stuff. Whatever the distraction was, the reason it wasn't locked the next time I got to the truck it was because of me.

Sounds like the times when you came back to the truck and it was unlocked, you probably relied on the auto-lock feature as a back up and didn’t actually lock it in the first place. But, if you park the truck, turn it off and open the door to get out, it will not lock itself after that. As others have said, the only time it will auto lock itself is when you unlock it, but don’t open a door. Then it will lock itself after 60 sec. (or more/less if you go into the settings menu and change the time, or turn it off altogether).

I have the OEM remote tailgate lock, and I turned the auto-lock feature off because I would unlock the tailgate with the key fob, open it up, and as I would be loading stuff in the bed, it would auto lock after 60 seconds (because it doesn’t sense opening the tailgate as a door to override the auto feature). It got annoying because sometimes I would shut the tailgate, and then come back to open it again with stuff in my hands and I would have to drop everything on the ground to dig the FOB out of my pocket to unlock it again... and then 60 seconds later it would lock yet again. So I disabled it.

I'm having the exact problem the OP had (or is having). The truck keeps unlocking itself, sometimes just the driver's door and sometimes all four doors, and I get a notification from Toyota's phone app. I keep the smart key in a faraday box. I re-lock it by: pressing the lock button on the driver's door armrest, with the smart key fob button and even double up by locking it with the phone app. Still, everyday or so, it unlocks itself. I'm noting the times of day when it happens to perhaps find a pattern.

Note: it's a 2021 I've owned since July 2021. January 6 of this year, some shitwipe broke into it, busting the driver's door handle rendering it inoperable (had to open the driver's door from the inside via the passenger's side). Three weeks and $740 later, I drove the truck home from the Toyota dealer, parked it in the back for winter and haven't driven it since. This is when the seemingly random, un-commanded unlocking started.

I'm a licensed industrial mechanic and this is my fifth Toyota truck I've owned in the last three decades so I do "RTFM". Thank you for anyone who may suggest taking it back to the dealer. But the essence of this post, the OP's post and why forums like this is exist is to provide a work-around for having to do that.

Update: since the thief breaking the driver's door handle and the subsequent repair at the dealer, the Toyota Android phone app notified me just two times that the rear seats aren't secure. So, to eliminate that variable, I unfolded both rear seat cushions and driver's side rear backrest and gave all three a good firm shut taking care to orient the seat belts properly. I'm not sure if it was the thief or someone at the dealer fussing with the rear seats -- there were muddy footprints on the floor mats and carpet in the rear that weren't there before I took it to the dealer to repair the door handle on a brand-new truck with only 3,000 km (don't get me going on that). But this '21 Tacoma Double Cab hasn't unlocked itself in the two weeks since I re-secured the rear seats.
