    Nice setup! 2 questions...

    1) what kind of sliders are those?
    2) are they functional as steps? - my last set of sliders where so close to the rocker panel that using them as a step was awkward and useless. Looking for an option to protect the cab, but also assist the wife in jumping into the passenger seat (she's short).

That's an old pic but they are trail gear weld it yourself sliders. You just get the bent tubes shipped and can decide on angle however you want. Mine kinda double as steps but they're not flat, still have an angle of maybe 15*

I didn't want fill plates for steps, I just cut up skateboard grip tape to wrap where I anticipated feet to go. Otherwise it's real easy to slip on round rock sliders especially when wet

One more invite for tomorrow. Meeting in North Bend and going somewhere off I-90. Gallagher or Stampede or....? It's just me and a orange Jeep so far.

If you find someone I could use some services as well, me and a few friends at work are in need of someone to etch a few lowers that have Form 1 stamps to go with them.

    Awesome. Thanks for the info.

I opted out of the fill plates for my last set of sliders too. They are slippery (found that out the hard way). I used a roll of grip tap they sell at hardware stores for deck/porch steps. Comes in a roll about 2" wide and makes application pretty straight forward.

    Thanks!

When I went through yesterday I was able to get back on westbound at the Kittitas exit. You live up in that area? For some reason I thought you were down in Ellensburg.

I think the sheet metal is slightly longer, but the actual interior dimensions are identical. And supposedly all the mounting is identical. I can actually double check with a tape measure tonight though.

I think they are very close based on conversations about canopyies in the CL thread

Close enough for a 2nd gen top to fit a 3rd gen?

I don't think it fit's if it's the type where part of the cap comes down around the plastic.

Well you can swap one for the other but the 3rd gen bed is deeper, I.e. Has taller bed sides.

it would be a trek but Hyperion Precision in Kent can do NFA engraving (plus other engraving)

Theres something different in the tracks inside the bed but I don't remember exactly. I remember trying to see if my older bed bars would fit on @GSPRunner's 3rd gen and the bolt holes wouldn't be in the right spot Don't think its a huge issue for most more universal stuff but for specific 2nd stuff they might not work on third gens.

The 3rd gen beds are taller. A 2nd gen canopy on a 3rd gen will stick up above the cab a few inches.

@canopycarl could go into more detail on the differences.

If anyone’s interested: the Sears at the Tacoma Mall is going out of business. Everything is on sale. Great deals if they still have something you’re looking for. I lucked out since I’ve been looking for an additional craftsman’s large tool box which I found (had to buy the display what was “unboxed 2 days ago” and was the last in the store) but I def benefited from it.
