Ya it’s a killer deal on a front locker. I stumbled upon the trac 4L mod for us that don’t have A-Trac. Seen some videos looks like it may be worth it to try. If not I’ll order another one.

There’s another brand called lokka one week shipping. The more I research the more I’m Leary of a lunchbox style locker upfront for a DD without manual hubs.

I seen that what I’m concerned with is like 3 point turns an getting drivetraine in a bid if it don’t disengage an break something.

 

Yeah, I was researching more on lunchbox vs e-lockers and that point came up too. Def got me re-thinking the rebuild of the front diff I have.

 

Yep that’s my current dilemma as well. But for the cost it’s a great option but I don’t foresee me “needing” one but like knowing it’s there. I mean with a winch an limited slip I figure the rigs limits will be me as a driver. I like to push it a little but nothing crazy.

 

I have a lunchbox in the rear and it would drive me crazy up front. I would go with air. I am interested to see how my 4runner drives differently when I replace the rear links since they're currently bent to hell and it binds up sometimes.

In the video I see what looks like slipping when it is engaged.
Is that supposed to be a good thing?

 

That’s good to know. If I do go for it think it’ll be a e-locker up front when funds allow it.

yes it “ratchets” meaning unlocking when making turns but otherwise is always engaged. Supposedly when it’s normal driving you don’t notice but in 4wd makes steering a little tough but crawls like a sumbeach.

What was your experience like with it ?

 

Terrible. It made wheeling more like a chore instead of something fun. The traction was better obviously but the IFS doesn't move anyway so I hardly miss it. With the amount of shit it caused to break I could've just put all the money towards an ARB. Would never put a lunchbox in an IFS truck again, total waste of money imo

It's an aussie. And naw gonna try and sell it with the Diff for like $150 eventually gotta make sure I have all the springs first tho
