Because oblivious. Basis for most of the crap driving noted in this thread. If people were courteous and mindfull of others this thread would not exist but unfortunately many act like they failed humanity 101(otherwise known as kindergarden).

Why is it almost always a BMW passing 70mph traffic like they are standing still and weaving back and forth across 3 lanes of traffic. The one exception: yesterday I just happen to look in my rearview mirror while doing 70 in the center lane of 3 lane highway and there's a 90's minivan flying up on me like it's going to rear end me and then suddenly swerving off to the right lane (must have been inches from hitting me) and flying past me only to have to slow down to reasonable speed within the next quarter mile because there was no place left to pass traffic. I've seen sport model cars do similar but never a minivan. That thing could have rolled so easily with that maneuver. And for what? It got him literally nowhere.

This technically a parking pet peeve and not a driving pet peeve, but I'll say it again...

When you unwittingly park in a "reserved" parking spot, or park there knowing it's reserved but plan on being gone within a few minutes, and the person whose spot it is shows up and starts acting as though they've caught you pissing on the grave of their deceased relative!

I haven't had an encounter like this in quite a while, but I witnessed one just yesterday. Apparently one section of the parking lot at my work was annexed when a piece of property changed hands, and the new owner is this bald middle-aged guy who drives a late model Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Yesterday, there was a white Audi SUV parked in one of "his" spots, and the Audi's owner was getting ready to leave when Mr. Jeep showed up, and he waited somewhat patiently, but he stared down the Audi driver as they drove away. I heard Mr. Jeep say "that's my spot," but the Audi driver had their windows up and was completely oblivious...

Nothing actually happened, but I could tell by Mr. Jeep's body language and general demeanor that he was actively seeking out a a confrontation.

The difference between Mr. Jeep and myself is that I don't throw that first metaphorical punch. I only get mad after the other party really pushes me past my limit...

This is a combination of two pet peeves that happened a couple days ago...

Using a phone while driving and assuming that a turn signal automatically gives you a free pass to blindly cut across one or more lanes of traffic!

I was driving to the Asian market in North Wales and about to get into the far right lane to make a right turn.

As I'm making my way to the light, I see this burgundy late model Acura MDX, with it's right signal on, about to change lanes right into my fresh-out-of-the-body-shop Tacoma. I laid on the horn and slammed on the brakes, and the woman in the Acura abruptly hit her brakes.

After having two accidents in about 7 months where the other party was at fault, in which I promptly cussed at the person who hit me, I've actually rehearsed in my head numerous times how to keep myself calm if someone hits my Tacoma again (especially if the truck is severely damaged)...

However, regardless of damage severity, there were two things that day that would have turned me into the Incredible Hulk...

    1. I'd just gotten my truck out of the body shop after getting some work done...

    2. The Carlisle Truck Nationals is just over a month away, and I intend to show my truck again!

On top of that, as I drove past the Acura, I saw that the woman was on the phone!

I'm almost certain that my truck would have been drivable after such an accident, but with the way the Acura was angled she would have likely damaged the entire left side of my truck. New left headlight and left front fender for sure, more than likely a left door skin, possibly the entire left door, possibly the left window, more than likely the left mirror, and possibly the left bed panel...

I have no doubt that my longtime trusted body guy Butch could fix it, but Butch is good and as a result is regularly swamped. Once I got the check from the insurance company, I probably wouldn't have gotten my truck in until mid-August.

So yeah, that woman came within a few feet of getting cussed out by yours truly...

Probably been stated already...but this whole texting/checking phone & driving epidemic needs to stop. It's so out of control.

I also had a guy in a stick shift Mazda sedan roll into me when the light turned green. If there'd been any damage, I would have given chase, but there wasn't!

    This happened just now...

It's bad enough when you're on a narrow one-way street, someone decides they have to park in that spot, and holds up traffic to parallel park!

How would you feel if the person in front of you is driving a Mini Cooper, and they wait until the person parking is all the way in? Seriously, you've got one of the smallest and most nimble vehicles in North America!

I dont really get road rage about this but its somehow annoying just the same...Single cab people using the passenger headrest for armrest...mostly because I can see it better on single cabs...
