Get some solvent and strip them. Just make sure you use PPE.

 

Yea definitely get rust first

 

What type of solvent? and PPE is for squares

 

Soaking them in naval jelly will clear up the rust, not sure if itll go through paint.

 

What's a cheaper alternative to a Livorsi Fire extinguisher mount to mount a cheap Walmart fe to my bed rack. The one inside behind the back seat needs to be moved

Home depot has an aerosol aircraft stripper. Rough the surface with 80 grit so it exposes metal in the sanding scratches then spray it in there

 

Well do you have a round rack or square? Might want to get quick fists, and bolt on..
