I have to drive through a couple of high schools in the valley where I live before venturing home. I'm fine with people listening to music with their windows down, no matter what it is. But if your going to blare it next to me, be prepared to have better speakers.

The point of this, young adults in the valley have a lot of beater cars that blast from what I would suppose would be rap. Their speakers suck and just sound like a trebled mess. So I turn on my playlist with one of my heavy hitting metal songs that overbears their music and their windows go up. :)

Or I hit them with my two 12-inch subwoofers and shake their rear view mirror.

I've got 1 12" alpine R because I value a bit of trunk space haha. Unfortunately, one of my rear deck speakers started crackling a little bit a few months ago. Most people who ride with me don't notice it; but I certainly do. Speaking of a rear view mirror, having one with subs is totally pointless. I also have manually rolling windows in my corolla, so every couple months I have to re-roll them because they'll slide down a millimeter or so and start to vibrate lmao. I'll prob build a box to put one in my husband's taco at some point. Before we bought the taco he drove a pontiac with these shitty dual kickers that'd occasionally fall out of the box... yikes.
On that note, I'd have to say another pet peeve of mine is people who have their subs cranked so high that 1; they can't hear their music anyways 2; bad installs, loose wires, crappy amps, etc. 3; Installing subs in cars that rattle louder than the bass

I was willing to let it go and sign you off for being in compliance, with the one noted exception that you need to get this issue taken care of before the next inspection. What they decided to do next pissed me off so bad that I changed my mind. It was the tone and attitude that made me say fuck it. I can't kick you in the balls, but I can give you the next best thing, you're now non-compliant.

Moral of the story don't fuck with people that you know you need to keep your license

I also have a single 12” sub for when I need a little more space in my cab. As far as install goes, I got someone else to do it so it actually looked professional.

I have no clue how we would install in the taco since we have that touch screen. Installing in the corolla was easy enough. You can make an install look super clean with a 1 cm cut to the carpet right at the base of your center console then use a metal hanger to pull the wires through to the trunk. The rest is really straight forward to hide. the hardest part was finding a discrete place for the ground. Beyond that the most difficult part is soldering a new head unit in. Most of the installs I've seen would have been better taken to a shop haha. When I bought my sub the friend selling it to me cut it right out of his trunk and I knew nothing about cars at the time so I had no idea how I was going to put that back in I was like "uhhhh dont I need wires" I was stupid haha. Putting the sub in was the first thing I ever did to my car myself :')

My friend in high school spent asinine amounts of money on his sound system in his truck so he could Blare his Garth and Hank and embarrass all the jokers bumping rap.

    It was priceless to watch

    What really grinds my gears.......

Reading post after post from idiots giving suggestions on things mechanical or fabrication when they shouldn’t be allowed to fill their own tires with air.

To preface I am a licensed Millwright. Not everyone has the same skill set and many are stellar at what they do for a living away from things mechanical. But there is more to being mechanically inclined than having a couple hundred in tools and the desire to try (or should I say $60 in HF tools?)

There are some amazing skills here on TW and then there are the others. One guy I have to avoid because he is an absolute moron yet carries himself as if he is the ultimate shade tree mechanic / fabricator. He is a total hack.

Just read a thread tonight and some of the suggestions from guys are so bad I would fire an apprentice on his first day on the job if he was that stupid. Can’t point out the stupidity of their suggestions because other muppets agree with them and think it is a great idea. How do you explain to someone their idea is stupid when they don’t have a good enough grasp of mechanics to understand your explanation? Add in the new way of thinking that there are no stupid ideas. BS there are stupid ideas and there are stupid people. I have many skills but I won’t attempt heart surgery or a self lobotomy. I am smart enough to know my limits or at least my limits and experience TODAY.

    Just my little rant.

People who refer to a law in defense while breaking a law.

    For instance:
    • I have the right to pass you in the fast lane (the driver in front of you is doing the MAXIMUM speed limit)
    • You injured me (while I had intent to harm you physically or financially)

Being pro-‘insert your race’ but refer to others as racist.
You’re a racist, level with yourself.

People who think MINIMUM wage is a livable wage (it’s to protect minimum skill workers new to the workforce and never intended to support anyone living on their own with amenities)

I really could go on for minutes.
I agree wholeheartedly with the guy in the early posts who said “people” lol

I've had enough of loud exhaust systems on anything. I don't mind a little tone if it's on the right vehicle, but no one needs to hear your Grand Pam with a Cherry Bomb

My city's public works department and the asshole contractor they hired. Who in hell would decide to start tearing up a street in a residential area at 7PM on a Sunday for resurfacing? They're still at it as of now and it's nearly 9PM. This isn't an emergency repair, it's just people being assholes. I hate this town.

at the post office, people who use the EXIT door to enter. and vise-visa (sic).

and the dick-noses that park in the fire lane right in front of the aforementioned doors so everyone has to walk around their vehicle.
