Yes I am and no it is just me, going to be a challenge.

 

you will be fine, i did it myself. use the transmission jack to raise and lower everything. I think sam will be there briefly tomorrow, as far as I know me and him are the only ones that have done it ourselves.

make sure when you get your fronts from ecgs if they included the add engagement gear on the passenger side. When you pull off your oem one you will see it. Sometimes the donors dont come with it and you have to extract yours and transfer over.

 

Yea muscling the clam shell will be the only tough part I think.

 

I was wondering about that, did you have to pull it apart to get the gear released or were you able to pry enough to get the clip to release?

 

i think its best you do it yourself, no one is as careful on your rig as yourself. I remember when i had people help on my rig and ended up stripping a bunch of crap that didnt need to be @Fleabag

 

mine came with it in the donor, sam however, we had to open up the clam shell to use a punch to tap it out through the backside.

 

dont fill the diffs in the air, the front will puke out all the gear oil through the breathers if its overfilled btw

 

Absolutely, Ro had the same thing happen to one of his axles...

 

Also called the stub shaft.

After front was installed, diff oil filled and on the road for a week. I was wondering what the hell was wrong with my 4WD and thinking my front tcase actuator was screwed. Took that apart and rebuilt it.

Further long drawn out investigation found out that the stub shaft was never inside the front diff when shipped from ECGS.

ECGS sent me a stub shaft and I had to remove and reinstall x2.

PITA.
