Thanks! I'll keep them in mind for sure. It also turns out that Autorust/Safe T Cap have a bunch of registered installers in PA, with the ones close to Philly being EC Liner in Folsom and Juniper Autobody in Quakertown. Since they carry the product and they're both super highly reviewed on Google, I'm getting quotes from them now and will probably use one of those. I'll let everyone know how it turns out with a vendor review :) I called five or six local body shop places here, and none of them wanted to do a frame patch, so thanks so much for this resource!

Haha, you know it! I've done a bunch of work on this one and I often wonder why I bother instead of buying something new, but it's the truck my brothers and I used when we were doing a lot of house remodels as kids/teenagers, so a lot of sentimental value. Can't just let it go and it definitely has a lot of life left!

Heh - you won't see a lot of those, if any, in Bala Cynwyd these days. The old farms have all been subdivided out (though they left the farmhouses standing and they're gorgeous old stone buildings). Every time I whitewater at Muddy River though, I'm treated to some slow drives behind a buggy :)

I’m a welder myself but must say that frame looks so bad from the picture that it looks beyond having any solid metal to weld.
Panels , supports , could be used in a backyard fix but a shop may be hesitant due to liability.
I’m not sure without seeing it in person ..... annnnd ..... I have little knowledge on what is acceptable frame repair .....
I would get something else , even a repair won’t last past all the effort and cost

Heh - I am not a welder, hence shopping this out. The two shops I've been talking to don't seem to have a problem with tackling it (upper, outside, and bottom seem to have decent metal surface), but the first quote came back at 12 hours of labor (they want to drop the gas tank and move some other bits around) at $98/hour plus materials so that's a tough bill to eat on an old truck. Hoping the second comes back on the lower end.

^^^ yeah .... that’s not an easy job to do correctly.
Be wary of promises to get your money. I would certainly need some good reviews from more than one person before proceeding.
    Figure in cost ?
Sometimes it’s better to let it go .... Painful ..... but a better move in the long run.
    I wish you luck !!
