    That's the plan :D
My body shop sent Safeway(the other guy's insurance) a letter telling them their estimate was severely deficient. They estimated the repair at $1500, my body shop gave them a 12K estimate. That exceeds the value of my TJ(NADA of 9K), so they told them it was considered totaled under Al state code. I'm hoping they'll hurry up and give me my money. I want an ARB front bumper :D Plus they owe me $675 for the initial tow/storage/rental that I paid out of pocket, and they're 3 weeks behind on the rental they have to supply me by law.

$1500 to 12k? Like, what do these guys do for a livin’. Sure can’t be any good at it if estimating is Rocket Science to them. Hope it gets sorted out right quick. Remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

The initial estimate didn't even list my broken driver seat. There' some warpage(not a word:Din front of both my doors caused from the rear impact and a bunch of other shit. From talking with other shops, I actually got turned down by a shop b/c they didn't want to deal with Safeway), Safeway always low-balls and tries to hold off until you fold and do it their way. I not in a position where I have to have the TJ back on the road, so I can let it play out and get what I should.

Bullying & these low ball tactics do nothing to save money or satisfy customers. I suppose you could wait a little more but when both sides are so far apart, someone’s gonna have to blink. Good luck on the resolve.

Good thing is, I bought the Tacoma a few days after the wreck, so the TJ isn't needed and my best friend is a lawyer, so he's handling the case for me. Had the TJ been my only way to get to work, I would have had no choice but to get it fixed as soon as possible. It's sad that insurance companies try to screw people over(I understand people also screw them over coming into our ER for bullshit accidents). I never even went to the ER b/c I knew I would be sore and expected it. I didn't try to get any extra money from them.

I have no intentions of backing down on this one :D It's about the principle now.

You gotta fight the good fight, Phil. There like sharks or bears, first sign of fear & you’re done.

Like I've said, I'm lucky to not need it to get me to work. I had been looking for a Tacoma for almost 9 months. I just couldn't justify getting rid of a perfectly good TJ for a Tacoma. My hand got forced(and I'm happy with it). It will all work out in the end. All that truly matters is no one was hurt and I get to go on with my merry way :D

I just don't like being taken advantage of. I will always try to fight against that.

Back on the night shift for the first time since late May. Luckily the wife lets me sleep all night when I'm on shift and she takes over all kid duties

man you gave up that big back yard with the pool for the smaller lot? :bananadead: or does the new place have a pool as well since it's a requirement with this insane heat?

Unfortunately. From 1.7 acres to 7500 sq ft and no pool. Was dreaming of a pool here recently. Community pool though and a 180 acre lake within .75 miles
