2018 Pro oil filler neck has two bolts on it. Trying to understand it; the filler neck is epoxied to the valve cover so what is the purpose for the two bolts? Can it be rotated? Installed the Genesis Offroad DBK and the filler neck is really close to the battery and saw on another thread where the battery broke off the filler neck from the valve cover.

    TIA

I am not 100% sure but I think that tube used to be glued on instead of bolts.

Isn't that just the extension bolted to the actual filler neck?

I believe so but it looks like the lower half is molded into the valve cover instead of epoxied. Just wondering if they realized epoxy was a bad idea and changed it in the 18 models. Does the 16 & 17s look like this?

I wouldn't worry myself over the oil filler tube necks design, you a beautifull new 2018 Tacoma consider yourself lucky not many people can afford to have a truck like this.

Lol... who said I can afford it? It’s not so much the cost of the truck it’s the cost of everything I mod on vehicles.. :spending:

Looks like it may be able to be rotated to create more room for your battery set up.

My buddy @moddedbyphil Told me a while ago the cap threads into the hole where the neck is usually glued. My filler neck broke off today (dual battery setup was too close), and sure enough it works!

Here's how I solved the problem. Also before final installation, I was able to rotate the filler to create more space next to the battery. I just took this photo, things are still working fine (no failures) two+ years later.
