One of the most reliable vehicles you can buy. If your not planning on towing heavy loads and not looking for something quick it could be the perfect truck. I love my 2012 but now have a 18 Sport with the 3.5 because I tow.

My buddy at work just got the SR 2.7 and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it drives. I liked it quite a bit and it’ll be super reliable.

I wouldn't say cheaper at all. the interior is quieter on the new truck plus a little more tech. You will also get a better back up camera (if yours has it) and the 2016 with the auto has a six speed transmission. Why don't you consider new? For 26K and a touch more and end up with a Tacoma two years newer. I thought a new SR can be had for under 30k?

They consider it a commercial grade truck so black it is to hide bumps on the truck better. You could get the truck in black then the bumper would blend right it.

its only black if is has the BZ utility package with the rear seats delete, normal SR comes with color matched front / rear bumper mirrors like the sport, i had a 2016 and it was legit, only reason its gone is I went up to 4x4, bullet proof truck

and FYI the new 2018's come with land departure, radar cruise control and the pre collision system which makes the base truck nicer for long trips

I very carefully selected my truck (see profile). It is exactly the correct tool for my job.

Mega durable. 750,000 miles on my 2005 2TR-FE.

Midnight Black Metallic. Trim blends in for a blackout look.

My big question, based upon personal experience, is how do I stave off carbon build up on the pistons, piston ring coking, and valve stem seal wear, so as to pass a smog check at 500,000 miles.

My truck, and yours OP, will be essentially bulletproof.

Only black when you get the "Utility Package"

Although my 2015 Utility Package has the black bumpers and fender flares, lol...

The 6 speed and 4:30 gears really helps the 2.7 out. I've owned my SR access cab utility for 3 months now and like it more every day. I freaking LOVE opening the hood and seeing a motor without plastic covering crap all over the place. I can put my hand on anything I want to check. Hell I can even see the bell housing in the transmission.
