The 20% off, GB discount only applies to front big brake kits and has been active for some time now. Tom at SOS Concepts recommends doing the front big brake kit before converting the rear drums to a brake system.

I don't have A-trac, but the ABS system is unaffected. So A-trac should still work.

    Hey all,

Does anyone have the TR.323.6TA SOS PERFORMANCE 6 PISTON FRONT BIG BRAKE KIT fits Tacoma 6 Lug w/ 16" wheels? I just got a tacoma, coming from an evo, and the brakes are shit, especially for such a heavy vehicle. I see that the coupon code is still active making the kit $1600 instead of $2000. Would this be a good first upgrade to the truck for better braking? I've only had the tacoma a month and I've already had more close calls than I've had in a long time.

Which one is the TRD rotor? (Link looks dead) and do they make it for a 17 inch wheel?

I just bought the 323 front brake kit for the 16'' stock TRD Pro wheels. Will it be a good improvement over the stock brakes?

I really want to pull the trigger on this deal since it's still active and I need new brakes anyhow.

What are most people getting as far as Smooth, Drilled, or Slotted rotors?

I live in CO and go to and from the mountains a lot, so the brakes definitely get a workout. I'll be getting TR.323.6TA and probably the rear conversion, too.

Also, are the front ss brake lines stock length? I'll be lifting it next and was planning on getting extended lines.

I have drilled and slotted. Should have gotten smooth. Mud gets in everything.
Unless you have an LT kit the supplied brake lines are fine. You do NOT need extended lines with a "lift".

Pulled the trigger on them. Got the 323mm smooth rotors w/ red calipers. Should look nice on the Baja and compliment the supercharger quite well!

Anyone know if there will be a 323mm 6-piston caliper rear conversion set? I only see 341mm for the rear.

Just found out this product existed, now it has become a huge want.

Had a close call recently while towing, braking normally is a little weak but with the smoker in tow it is kind of scary.

What are those that are doing the conversion that requires 17" wheels doing about the spare? I still have stock spare with XD wheels all around.

You could just rotate a rear tire up front until you get a matching spare.

Brilliant - not sure why I hadn't thought of that. Thanks.

Regarding trimming the dust cover or installing the hub shim, what are people doing? I have everything apart and am stuck here. The included instructions are ok, but not very detailed. It just says to trim whatever is hitting the rotor, or install shim and tighten bolt to factory specs (which would be?).

I've bent the dust cover back some, and mocked up the rotor, and it does still run in places. Honestly, it seems I could trim the entire dust cover and it might still rub.

    So what's everyone else done?

I tossed mine .. I think 4Runner covers are a direct fit. Will eventually add sometime in the near future.

Thanks. I figured it out. I didn't fully understand the instructions. But I've chopped the dust cover to hell, and the rotor spins freely now. I'll be ordering the 4runner dust covers and will install those at a later date.
